You are putting on very nice results in the season, i think there will come much better in the following races. How will be your tactic on grand tours for the general classification? becuase omega pharma quick step havnt got much good mountain riders.
Im a big omega quick step fan and especially of tom boonen hope to see him kicking ass of cancalara.

The season started just great, you makes OPQS a great team. Are you the NC coach of Belguim? |

xXMajesticoXxx - First, thank you very much for your kind words. Very much appreciated
Then to the Grand Tours. Velits and Cataldo will be our main GC riders at the Giro, with Cataldo supporting Velits to get a Top 10 hopefully. Ciolek is going to be our main sprinter here.
Then we come to the Tour, where it's Martin and Levi that are going to lead our team. We'll see how Martin fares with so many TT km's, but Levi will be our captain at the start. He'll get help from De Weert and Chavanel. Boonen and Ciolek will be our sprinters. We hope we get at least Top 5 and fight for Points Jersey with Boonen.
At the Vuelta it's Velits again. He'll have De Weert and Deveyns as his best mountain domestique, and we hope for a podium here. Steegmans will be our sprinter and hope for a stage win.
jona777 - Yes, that's the plan. After the Tour, he's going to ride last race in either Pologne or Eneco. Eneco is obvious choice though as he can get good GC postion too. Eneco should be the last race on calendar, but you never know how his form might be. Thank you Jona
PCM rulezz - Thank you very much. And yes indeed, should be fun Worlds Champs with Gilbert
Schleck96 - Thank you, glad you like them
Avin Wargunnson - Thank you Indeed we want to improve on that by winning all the races we are in February. Oman probably the hardest with De Weert as there will be some tough competition, but possible nontheless. Konig was aboslutely phenomal, if he continues that a contract with our team is very liekely
Sorry for no promised reports yesterday, have been quite busy, but today is my final day of school for this week So today afternoon both reports from Oman and Algarve will be up Stay Tuned

purepasd - We have similar minds then with fitness of our riders then. Good luck with your team, we can compare throughout the year then
valverde321 - Thank you very much. I know how that is with school and the uni's choices... Thanks for looking trough it, much appreciated
RMCF 1902 - It wasn't mainly because of Moivstar pace at the climbs. We played Qatar already btw, Boone finished 3rd and took a stage victory. I reported earlier with a short report
My little brother decided to play PCM when I was away. He unfortunately opened this game and quick stimulated Algarve and Oman.
Thank God it was until that point he stopped, we have no results from those races and very strange results too in GC's. I am not that angry as I didn't really care for results there, but now I have excuse to have a password on my computer
So Algarve and Oman will be reported in the monthly review. The results weren't awful, but almost every stage was won by a break which resulted in crappy results. So here's the Omloop report. Hope you enjoy it
Omega Pharma Quickstep Squad
Tom Boonen
Sylvain Chavanel
Gert Steegmans
Niki Terpstra
Stijn Vandenbergh
Nikolas Maes
Bert Grabsch
Our first test on cobbles, and first big test for Boonen. He's got a very good form coming from Qatar and Oman. Chavanel starts his first race from his last win n Calbria. The rest of the team is designed to aid our two leaders and work for our win here.
Omloop is one of the tougher cobbled races on the calendar. Not only containing a lot of pave sections, but lots of steep hills too. One of the longest sections of pave, around 30km before the end of the race should create the elite break, and we hope we will be in it.
The break was formed early and contained 13 riders, but we decided let them go as none were big threats today.
Until 50km to go nothing happen really. The break was caught and the peleton was riding steadily. Until then.... our of nowhere almost all of the peleton was caught out on small steep hill by Cancellara who was leading with frantic pace. 5 riders from OPQS made it.
With 30km to go the break is 42" seconds ahead of bigger group containing favourites that missed out here. Biggest loosers are Garmin with no riders in the group, all big favourites including Flecha, Boom, Breschel, Ballan, Hushovd, Langeveld and Cancellara are present in this break.
With 13km to go it's Terpstra who is leading the peleton so no riders can escape, we want this race to end in mass sprint with Boonen big favourite here.
The plan worked perfectly. It's Steegmans who was leading out Chavanel. Chavanel was last part of puzzle, accelerating and releasing Tomeke from the pack. It's looking good.
It's Boonen accelerating and looking in prime spot to win. Our fist classics victory is close...
Tomeeeekkkkeee takes it at the line comfortably ! What a day. Amazing effort by the team. Chavanel rounds it off for us with 5th place. It's the surprising winner of Alagrve, Scheirlinckx and Hushvod that round off the podium.

Team’s Reaction
Majestic. Amazing. Those are the words that I can say right now. The race has played out perfectly for us. Terpstra first keeping high tempo, so no one escaped from the elite break at the end. And Steegmans, leading Chavanel who finally released Tomeke. Great team effort and a win. Couldn't wish for anything better today.

Fabulous result!! First cobble-win is a fact!! Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne could make a double-succes, I hope that it will be victoryweekend in the OPQS-team! PS: nice that the face of Boonen looks like him in the game!
