If it's true that Rasmussen's missed tests is just due to lack of attention, I wouldn't say that's being lazy but unprofessional and negligent. He'll have two years to think about it.

Wonder what's up with Rasmussens and the whereabouts system though. Pfft

My guessing is Alex was in Mexico?

Its very sad for the sport, because Alex is a great rider and a great person, and he would never never take doping.

But the first warning he got was a little weird. He forgot to push the submit-button, but he told that to UCI and Anti Doping Denmark, so they knew he was in Berlin at that time, and actually UCI was there to test him. But Anti Doping Denmark somehow thought he was in Denmark.

Thats why i wont say yet that he will be given 2 years. I really hope its not gonna end like that.

Experience has shown us that nice people don't do drugs, indeed.

This is starting to get somehow amusing. First we lose our only medal candidate for the RR and now for the ITT aswell. The WC at home has already been a smashing succes for us.

Well.. The biggest hope for Denmark imo, Rasmus Quaade, is still there.

Interesting article from inrng about the Alex Rasmussen situation.

Long story short: He MIGHT still be free to ride if the UCI didn't act within 30 days of the missed test in April.

It would amuse me if UCI made a mistake and had to drop charges. However, this probably wont save his WC, and that's just sad Sad

Garmin says Rasmussen won't join them now. They ripped up the contract.

Makes room for T.Dekker I suppose Pfft

You do know Dekker rides for the Development team of Garmin and the plan is to ride for Garmin in 2012? ;-)

Comon. How many times do we hear that that person is nice and will never do dope? I had a american friend that was totaly sure Hamilton wasnt doped because he was so nice. He wrote some articles that was published in some sites. And we all know the thrut now. And my friend gave up his interest in cycling after that, so dissapointed in Hamilton and the sport.

Very interesting article indeed.

He's not in the Danish team for the WC...that's a bummer.
His contract with Garmin disappeared...another bummer.

However, IF the rules mentioned in the article are followed and they result in him being free to find another team instead of being suspended for two years, it will at least be something.

Obviously being nice or not doesn't mean he can't be doped...just as missing a test or failing to click the Submit button for a Whereabouts report doesn't make him guilty of being doped either.

In all honesty I'm having trouble believing in both riders, UCI and the various other organisations involved in these issues, so frankly I don't know what to think this.

Mostly I'm just sad about seing yet another case that draws attention to the one thing that really ruins the sport.

I know, but imo it's too early for him to jump to main team. Probably like half a year more in development team would only benefit him. But actually I asked my question, because you may know more about the whole situation.

Another interesting Tweet suggestion from Daniel Benson

I stay up late and watch really bad movies. I'm also the editor of Cyclingnews.com https://www.cyclin...

Garmin on Alex Rasmussen : "Our policy is stringent. In light of this situation, Alex Rasmussen will not be joining our team."

....

My opinion: they should snap up Craig Lewis on a one year deal
