I hereby declare Roman Kreuziger a hero.
Johnny Hoogerland said after the finish a lot of the peloton helped him today and said at one climb he was in difficulty and looked back, and Roman Kreuziger was actually pushing him up the hill. And then kept him out of the wind |

Nice to hear that Gesink was very positive in his interview. He's feeling better every day and I think he will be up there in the mountains with the big guns. |

He needs to make his mark on this years tour somehow. He also must have felt bad because the car that hit Johnny was a Skoda.

That's nice to hear. I'm starting to like Kreuziger a lot more now. |

Ciolek finished 7 minutes down, He's had an incredibly disappointing year.

Who is the first stage winner in the Tour's history, who has been
Maurice Garin...but why do you ask? If this is a competition thing it doesn't belong here

Nice to hear indeed, two riders in problems working together
i believe Kreuziger could actually benefit from this experience, learning the other side of racing

I still doubt that.
Maybe good enough to finish with the second string GC riders. But the top form to go with the best is surely gone now. |

Vaconsoleil and Johnny H have apparently received a personal apology from the driver and another from French TV.
During an interview on Eurosport, Dave Brailsford stated that no-one had contacted Sky to apologise and to the best of his knowledge, no-one had spoken to Flecha either.
If this is true I am seriously disgusted... |

Actually these kind of facts are common knowledge for tour enthusiasts. It's mentioned in a book I started re-reading the other day on page 7/8 and about 10 minutes into the official history dvd.
In short, he probably did actually know

I'm not saying he didn't know, I'm saying I had to look it up because I had absoloutely no idea
I've only really started following the sport over the last year or 2.

Tour history is my speciality. Learning French as a second language in school(mandatory) only has one perk, every project I do can be on Le tour.

Indeed you could have expected more. On the other side he also crashed in the first week at least once. Since then he has some pain and suffers. On the other hand he said after his top 10 that it feels better every day, so you could have expected him in the first group today.
In other news Greipel was asked about his feeling today and that he beat Cavendish.
He answered that Mark is the biggest sprinter of the world with 17 TdF victories, he now has only 1. So it`s of course a great feeling to beat him. But with a bit of luck and maybe better legs in the end this was possible for him today. |

Fair enough, but still he hasn't had a good year at all, hasn't lived up to expectations for Quickstep, he's only had 1 victory since going there.
