Marc's Comment: "Philippe is in good shape and the squad will work for him. He will have an hard fight against Liquigas.
Giro dell'Emilia
Cenro - San Luca in Bologna 196 kms
Not much happends in the begining of the race. It's the usual, an brekaway is given an gap before the favourite teams catch them. Oscar Pujol attacks with 30kms to go, when the race enters the final course. The course remind a lot about the WC course.
Pujol is in good shape after an amazing Vuelta with 3 stage wins and the KoM jersey. Other than that, it has been a quiet year for this Pujol. With 27kms to go he has an gap of 1'28 minutes.
Pujol still have 2'00 minutes with 20kms to go. Ricardo Ricco (Liquigas) realizes the danger and attacks.
Philippe is struggling today. He has no chance to follow Ricco and I am not sure if he takes an top-10 today.
10kms to go and it looks like an fight between Pujol and Ricco.
Pujol is in good shape and he is an good climber, but not good enough to follow Ricco who seals away to the victory.
Ricardo Ricco (Liquigas) wins Giro dell'Emilia 2013. He was the strongest rider today.
Pujol is caught and outsprinted by Giovanni Visconti in the final kms. 3rd in this strange race were you finish before the finish line, is still an good results by him.
Philippe is having an bad day and is 18th, 3 minutes behind Ricco.

Marc's Comment: "This classic is impossible to predict. The race can end in an sprint, but the winner can also be an part of the long break or an late break in the two final hills. Philippe is has won here twice, both times he attacked in thoose final two hills. He will do the sam this year."
Paris - Tours
St Arnould en Yvelines - Tours: 234 kms
Attacks! It seems like very single rider wants to be an part of the break today. Van Summeren, Debusschere, Sieberg and Willems tries for Omega Pharma but everthing is brought back.
More attacks, but again, it's brought back. We have raced for 50kms ans still there is no break.
After 100kms, the break is formed. Unlucky there is no Omega Pharma rider here so we will have to work a lot today.
There is 7 riders in the break and with 6kms to go their gap is 5'30 minutes.
The whole team is up in the front. Let's catch this break!
10kms to go and the break is almost caught. Will Philippe mange to break away or will it be an sprint? Philippe says he feels good so van Summeren makes an hard relay before the final climb.
Philippe attacks and Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) tries to follow. We all know that Voeckler is in shape as he suprised us a lot in the WC by finishing 6th, bt is it enough to beat Philippe?
Philippe is given an huge gap, 40 seconds, and Voeckler are not able to follow. It's downhill to the finish so this should work all the way or?
5kms to go. Philippe leads the race 50 seconds before the bunch. Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) is between them. If somebody is goind to threat Philippe today, then it's Voeckler.
Voeckler is to tired to threat Philippe so it looks like our hero will take an 3d victory in Tours! Will Voeckler manage to stay away from the bunch? He looks very tired!
Philippe Gilbert wins Paris-Tours. It has been an amazing season for Philippe who will ride for **]*&*!!***? next year.
Thomas Voeckler styas away and takes 2nd with an cycle. Romain Feillu (FDJ) wins the sprint and is 3rd.
Philippe Gilbert win Paris - Tours 2013!

@tsmoha: Pujol was in great shape. I think he had 98-99pts the final week of the Vuelta and he is still around 85pts.
kwkke10: Thank you very much, things like this is very fun to read I doesn't own PCM11, and I will not buy it for a while either so I will continue this story instead! However, I've planned a break after Lombardia or in the begining of next season.

Marc's Comment: "Sad but true, this is mine last comment this story an maybe last ever since Philippe changes team to next season... However, we are hoping for an "Grand Finale" and once again it looks like an fight between Valverde and Philippe. Time for revange?"
Giro di Italia
Medrisio - Como 260kms
Oscar Pujol, winner of three stages in the Vuelta, is in the break today.
HTC takes the responsibility to catch the break so Philippe is having an nice travel arund the Como lake. Beautiful views!
HTC splits the bunch uphil Madonna del Ghisallo. Alejandro Valverde (HTC), Eros Capecchi (ISD), Richie Porte (Rapha), Jurgen Van en Broeck (Omega Pharma) Dries Devenyns and Philippe Gilbert is in the first group.
Philippe is having an flat tire and stops for an new wheel! Philippe is 1'18 minute behind Valverde after the wheel change.
Alejandro Valverde hears about Philippe's puncture and attacks. No one else can follow him.
Philippe and Ryder Hesjedal (Rapha) is reaching an group with Andy Schleck (Katusha) and Giovanni Visconti (ISD). VAlverde is alone in the lead 2 minutes before this group. Eros Capecchi (ISD) is between this group and Valverde.
Andy Schleck and Giovanni Visconti attacks and reaches Capecchi. Philippe is tired after his puncture and can't follow but he leaves the rest of the group together with Hesjedal after an effort.
Aljendro Valverde is now 2 minutes ahead of Andy Schleck and will win today's race unless he crashes. Nobody could threat the world champion today, not even Philippe.
Philippe and Ryder works together and they can spot the two ISD riders (Capecchi and Visconti) with 10kms to go.
Valverde wins Giro di Lombardia and Any Schleck is 2nd, 2'01 down.
An tired Eros Capecchi holds off and takes the 3rd. He is the biggest suprise today if you ask me.
Philippe and Ryder is catching Visconti in San Fermo della Battaglia but he still has the power to outsprint them. Philippe is 5th, even though his puncture.
Alejandro Valverde wins Giro di Lombardia 2013!

Well, first I am going to do the man-game transfers and then I will go on holliday. However, I am planning an long break, don't now when though. I have an cycling carrier on my own and my goal is the World Junior Champs in Copenhagen. I have an tiny, tiny, tiny chance to get there and I am going to take it! So I will hide my computer somwhere and take an break, but I will still be around with mine laptop because of the man-game. After the worlds it's time for an autumn break and then I will go for another season with Philippe!
Nevertheless, I will make another resumé and some team presentations and and preview of 2014 before the break

for an awesome season! Great to read, great results and though Philippe missed the hattrick, he can be proud of this year. Pink in Giro was definitely a big moment, but there were many others! You did a great job with all the previews and reports. Well done And good luck with your own cycling career, but be great if you make to the WC

Interview with Philippe Gilbert
Hi Philippe! First of all, what an season by you!
Yeah, I did some great results but I didn't made the triple and I didn't won the worlds so I will have to try again. However, I will be in a new team in 2014: RadioShack!
Why on earth did you sign for RadioShack?!
Well, I think it's an good team for me. Armstrong is no longer around an the team is very international. I have alot of climbers here to help me and some good cobblers as well. The difference between The Shack and Omega Pharma is that there is no van Summeren here! I will be the captain on the cobbles!
What do you think about your new team-mates?
They are all nice guys. We have some great talents and some old guys (Horner). We have sprinters, a lot of great climbers, puncheurs, cobblers and all-rounders. It's an great team!
What about 2014? Which races will be your key-races?
I will go for the Ardenner triple once again and the Worlds of course. I will also start the Tour to see what I can do there. The first stage is from Brest - Plumelec (2008 years route) and it suits me well.
Oh that sounds nice but first there is an long holiday for you, any plans?
I only have one plan. Spend as much time as possible with mine family and friends.
Extra: RadioShack Squad 2014:
RadiShack Jersey 2014:
Team Sky has decided to make an colour change at their jersey:
Team Movistar (CT) will have an new jersey 2014:
Lampre (PT) will have an new jersey 2014:
Garmin - Cérvelo (PT) will have an new jersey 2014:
FDJ (CT) will have an new jersey 2014:
Team HTC will have an new sponsor an jersey 2014. The new team name is: Samsung - Highroad (Highroad)
Note: The jersey are NOT made by me. I've found them on diferent forums, all creds to the shirtmakers.
