But they won't be able to build it in time surely?

I don't really get it about Eurovision... most of the songs were quite bad, votes were absolutely ridiculous (Slovenia vote for Bosnia and Italy, Sweden for Finland and Denmark, and so on... how surprising!), pre-recorded messages from each nation boring...
In fact the only thing that made me accept the fact that my gf watches the show was the fact that Belgian commentators were absolutely hilarious, without this, it would have been plain sh... |

I have an idea for the show; when it's time for the artists to come on, they can ride onto the stage made of pallets on a trained donkey, while the lightman shines on them with the nations best (and only) flashlight!
Oh, I can allready imagine the cheering audience members, all two of them! |

Some real surprises last night. Azerbaijan were due a win I guess - they've been right up there the last few years. Italy 2nd though!? I couldn't see that coming. I was way off with my prediction of Russia to win too. And when Bulgaria gave the UK 12 I thought we could be in contention, but no chance. The voting was fascinating this year with no runaway favourite.
Maybe they could just move the show across the border and have it held in Iran next year? |

Some of the weirdest things to happen in voting:
- The UK gave Switzerland 2 points in the Semis and 10 in the Final.
- Conversely, the UK gave Hungary 10 in the Semis and 0 in the Final.
- Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania gave 12 points to Georgia. Apparently northern-eastern Europe has a soft spot for Georgia. |

A wild guess: On the day of the semis the audience was a good mix of young and old, which would explain low scores for Switzerland and high for Hungary, as these songs appeal to old and young respectively.
On saturday, all the young people were out, and only old boring people sat at home. Therefore giving their points to songs that appealed to them
There may be no truth in this at all |

It's an interersting theory
By the way, Azerbaijan has a population of over 9 million, making it in the top 20 most populated European countries. |
