It's not training with other cyclists, who may or may not be Professional. It's taking part in a training camp, which is paid for by a professional team. Whilst under a suspension, or sanction, it is illegal, against the rules, etc, etc, to be able to be "paid". In essence, by taking part in a training camp, he's taking advantage of the support of a professional team (coaches, mechanics, he's probably staying in a pre-paid room, food, kit, etc, etc). |

So, if on paper, he would pay everything by himself, then it wouldn't be illegal?

Perhaps it is an interpretation of 1.032 of the UCI cycling regulations, part 12, particulary the part about "other advantages related to the practice of his sport":
4. During the period of suspension, no financial contribution shall be granted by the National Federation to the rider and the rider shall not accept any financial contribution or other advantages related to the practice of his sport.

It's more of an ethic matter. He's banned from racing and from cycling (the racing part) and that this involves (professional racers at training, etc.).
Having somebody who's doping or has had dope in his hands, training with his former/future team is not really a proof of integrity by either side. |

That's true -- normally, a team would distance itself from a doping banned rider. Movistar does the exact opposite. However, that's not illegal. |

Personally I think that it's ok to train with professional riders as long as it's not a team training camp. That would look bad for the team, although not illegal if they aren't paying or sponsoring him.
If it is a team training camp then it's the team that accepts the rider. If he is just riding with a friend or two he should be allowed to do that.

However it says much about how Movistar rejects doping and everything and everyone linked to that... |

There's not really anything to fear. It (Smilekers) is Sastre's own charity project. Originally in Spanish, and you can't really blame them for making a few mistakes in English. |

... Aaaaand another Michael Rasmussen / Christina Watches news bulletin:
Christina Watches have officially announced that they have signed a main sponsorship with Onfone (a Danish mobilephone company).
Christina Watches will be called "Team Christina Watches - Onfone" from now on.
Apparently, Onfone is willing to put millions of DKK (probably 1 million EUR, if my assumption is correct) into the team.
Sorry if I keep spamming MR news - It's just all that seems to be happening that I get to report as the first one

Although someone from a Danish forum had guessed it, I still find it quite surprising.
But alright, weirder things have happened.
One thing I find quite interesting is that the fans can do something actively to up the sponsorship. They have made a Facebook page, and the more fans, the more money will go to the team.
5,000 fans on Facebook means 4 % more, 10,000 means 8 % more, and 25,000 fans means that Onfone will up the sponsorship with 20 %.

Well, the main sponsor isn't British, it's a Danish watch designer based in London, but it doesn't really make it British.

was wondering why i'd never heard of them.
they've got London splashed all over the front and back of the kit. if they want to break into the british market then a couple of british riders would improve their coverage over here. |

The full name of company is "Christina design London", so that's why London is on the jersey. And I doubt they are trying to break in to the British market, if they were they wouldn't have sponsored a minor Danish team.

well why base yourself in london and have london as part of your name if your not trying to break into the british market?
