Still over 50km to go in Britain for those wondering. Already down to 3, Wiggins, Thomas, Kennaugh
How hard/easy is the British route?
It hilly, but I dont think this scale of gaps was expected. Ive made a PCM10 race on this course, the amount of laps is different though.
Theyve done 3 laps of the longer circuit, shown in the first part of that profile - and now theyre onto 4 laps of the shorter circuit, (Done only once on that file)
Looking good for Thomas to repeat then. Although I guess he'd be the favourite anyway.
If it comes to a sprint, Thomas will be favourite, but I wouldnt rule out Kennaugh. Wiggins won on this route in 2009 when it was a normal domestic race though, so he knows the course - and I expect him to try to attack away at some point.

The race was wierd. Hushovds group never really tried to bridge the gap. At least thats what it looked like.

Not that many surprises this year, in most major cycling countries the winner is one of the very best rider of the season. Which is something I appreciate for a "national champion", although I'm of the opinion that it's a bit ridiculous to have a change of season champion in the very middle of the season, and I'm also thinking that those titles could or should be given to the most deserving rider of the season (base it on a CQ-like ranking or something). |
