I just can't not laugh at how dumb we all thought the decision to make these Canadian PT races were. They turned out great.
Happy to say we are mostly all wrong there. Glad to see it worked out for Canada.
Now the ATOC, move it back, It fitted.
nah, everyone can come to the Tour of South Africa instead (sunny, summer, similar parcours, 9 stages, literally almost the same thing)

Gesink was brilliant. Far and away the strongest rider today.
How is Guido doing? Is he in intensive care now?
And hellboy especially how is hellboy doing

Yeah awesome win by Gesink. ANd Hesjedal was the most consistent of both races I beleive.
Nope, Gesink 3rd in Quebec, 1st in Montreal
Hesjedal 4th and 3rd.

Impressive attack. He can be thankful that the chasing group messed up the pursuit though, they didn't work along well at all but came back quite close.
And what race did you watch?
I remember at least 4km of intense swearing from me towards the group that they were working together. They only started fucking up in the final 1km |

Yeah I know. It was pointed out to me by someone before you.

I was swearing at Gesink. But it was a great win. |

Gesink was amazingly strong, absolutely insane attack today by him. Well done, Robert.
These two Canadian classics are really cool to watch, I want them next year again!

Indeed. I think many European races can learn from this...
In general, the formula is very good. Shorter races (180/190km instead of 250) = more excitement
And the courses were suited to both sprinters and attackers, they could end up each way.
This was a really nice way of organising a race |

and circuit races are much easier to organise, get TV sorted and get fans there.
After all in a non traditional cycling country, you're more likely to get a crowd for a circuit race than a 1 time blur and it's done scenario.
Yeah, good model to use.

It was actually the 'scare' image for the creator of cycling4all.com (who stopped his site due to continues doping scandals).
Circuit races that get Pro Tour status from UCI and dropping old classics.
Ofcourse, that was a bit far fetched, the UCI won't drop races like Roubaix, Lombardia etc. But circuit races definately have a feature.
These were great to watch, nothing wrong with them |

Or he was just making a joke about Gesink crashing a lot?

Was a good race. But I prefer races 250-290 km, where the resistance is more important ...
If they put a few more laps next year, it will be spectacular |

250-290km tend to be excruciatingly boring because all riders are too afraid to attack early.
They tend to end up in to snoozefests |

Awesome race. Gesink did a spectacular effort keeping his advantage against a very strong group which collaborated until the last km, and Hesjedal again was very active, but just not strong enough.
Really liked these Quebecois races. Never thought they would be this good, I hope they keep there in the future.

Really nice win by the albino. It's nice to see him win, as he's a rider who respects the races he's in and always tries hard everywhere.

I'll add myself to the long list above: AWESOME spectacle in a beautiful environment. Altough the broadcast could have been much better. And i think i'll sit in between ruben and aqarius, at times i was thinking they were working together really great but they did definatly have some moments where they were looking at eachother. Doesn't make Gesinks accomplishment any less though. |

I'm with Jape. The broadcast was the negative.
But I guess Canadian TV rarely covers Cycling so it was their first go.

Gesink raced that final 12.2km lap in just 16:46, the fastest of the day, at an average speed of 43.230 kph (26.24 mph). That was a performance of the very highest order after five hours in the saddle. Only the sport’s very finest athletes can attain such a level.

Meh, you keep wondering how and why he fucked up his timetrials in suisse and tdf this year.
He did just fine in 2009/2008 and he won with solo efforts like this one before in the Tour of Belgium 07 and Settimana Lombarda 2006
