a little tip here: You gain more time uphill than downhill so it's maybe better to have the green bar shorter then the yellow one on a climb and then just kind off relax downhill.
Great vids.

@sam1196: Thanks for the kind words and the tip, would this be for only decent hill climbers or for all riders?

For me i works with all riders certainly you could do well with hilly riders with no TT skill. Like 73 hill and 60 TT could do top 20 there maybe. But also with a top rider like 80 hill 75 tt or 75 hill 80 TT it's always better to push harder uphill parts then keeping it equal ( the bars ) al the time.

Sam1196 almost said it. As far as I understand it, during a TT it is better to use your first riders to find out which percentage you have to use for the green bar to run out just before the finish line and then use that. So you do not have to change it during the race, is more efficient.
That is what you mean right sam? Just want to make sure I do not put worrds into your mouth |

@evann0: I intend to continue my 2010 story as we are nearing the end of the season and I can't wait for what should be a year of competing for GT's and in bigger races , but I shall also start a 2011 lets play at some point after the pcmdaily db is released and the inevitable patches , what the team will be like is yet to be decided but a poll may decide it
@sam1196: Ok so you are saying put the effort to just one level for the whole stage? or have higher effort on the climb asnd reduce effort on the descent ?
@riptorian : A second opinion is always nice to have, to make sure it is reliable information (thats what taking A level science will make you write ) |

So wha i mean is let's pu it % maybe it's more easy to understand then.
So when you've go a toally flat TT riptorian's srategy is without doubt the best.
In a hilly TT or Prologue it's beter for a rider to:
-1 save some energy on the flat and then fly up the climb so that your green bar is more empy than he yellow bar. and then just manage a good descent that 2 bars are empty at the finish. This is probably he best strategy for a rider that has both TT and hill qualities.
-2 manage to keep 2 bars equal on the flat and just go very fas uphill so that your green bar is smaller than the yellow one and ride a quite slow descent so that 2 bars are empty at the finish. I use this for weaker TT riders with a decent hill stat.
You certainly lose some time downhill but the time you gain uphill is almos always bigger than he time you loose downhill.
Sorry if you don't understand my english really isn't that good
