A bit late, but I finally got around to watching the Cav crash, and my opinion is that it is no more his fault then Haussler's. Both of them are accelerating around the other sprinter in the middle of them (Ciolek I think) and then both try to move in front of said rider to block any counter move, and then jump bump into each other. Both are aggressive sprinters, and they knew that backing down from trying to grab that position would mean they would lose to the other. It was a game of chicken, and neither of them blinked. Haussler deserves just as much blame as Cav.
Yeah, Haussler moved...20cm or so, and started to move out again. Cavendish moved a lot more, and when Cavendish hits Haussler, Haussler is moving away from Cavendish. I'd say Cavendish deserves most of the blame.
Not that our opinions really matter. |

Burghart winning his second stage, with a solo of 55 km against Van Avermaet, Quinziato, Freire, L.L Sanchez ...
Morabito 3th in GC.
Either, they were peaking for this, which in Burgharts case would be very strange, or BMC has found very nutritious food. Seeing as Burghart hasn't had a good year so far.

Rodriguez attacked, A. Schleck followed, then decided to drop back.
He's been doing that a lot lately.. |

Good ride was Caisse today, shame Monfort didn't get 2nd, but thats the tactics.
Also Hushovd won the bunch sprint, coming into form? The green jersey this tour will be interesting.

I wonder what Hausslers role will be. If he focuses on it, or is allowed, he might get a good share of points.

Haussler, probably the exact same as last year. He'll be given a stage win opportunity somewhere though.
I don't think Cavendish will win green, his form isn't good enough, but until next weekend at the National champs, or in Bruxelles we won't know for sure.
(British nationals course is quite hilly).
Hagen could be one to watch actually, a really impressive rider he is.

Victory for Rui Costa. Great win for Portugal, one more this year at the Pro Tour level. We usually don't get so many

No he didn't. Some guy named "Da Costa" won, according to cycling sites

I know. It's ridiculous. Rui should ask to change that. His name is in fact Rui Alberto Faria da Costa, but "da" isn't a name... |

Makes me think of one of our WC commentators, who kept saying Da Silva instead of Silva, and even when the name was appearing on the screen during the substitution, he kept saying it like "Da Silva did a rather good match today"

Huh. I thought "da" was more or less like "van" in Dutch, or "de" in French. |

It is, but unlike other languages, it's just not used at all unless you're filing your tax return or something

Every time I look at the GC, I wince.
Morabito was a mediocre rider at best for his entire career. How convenient that he can suddenly climb with the best just as his home tour arrives.
Today he's going to ride a good time trial, which he's never done in his life. Why not cut the middle man and just tattoo "EPO" on his forehead?
Reminds me of Jens "Team PFC" Voigt randomly dropping all the pure climbers on the 15% inclines of the Rettenbachferner in the Deutschland Tour.

Its something about riding in front of your friends, family and on your own "ground" that does something to you. Not nesseserly the fact that the riders are doped just because they did well? How dumb of a comment is that. So are you one of does that means that Lance was taking illegal supstense while winning 7 TDF's in a row? Come on now, its possible to do well without using EPO or whatnot.
And after your comments, its clear to see that you have never been a cyclist on a serious level. And experienced the trill to ride in front of your own "crowd".

We need more ironic posts just like yours, all those people writing first degree messages are somewhat boring ! |

Yes, it does. But going from a mediocre climber to climbing major mountain passes with the best in a matter of days? No chance.
Gradual improvement? Sure, that's believable. Massive improvement very suddenly? Not in a million years.
Especially being a guy who's ridden for Phonak, Astana and Phonak 2

That's exactly my reaction. How dumb of a comment is that? If anyone had said that riders are doped just because they did well, they'd be very very dumb. It's a good thing nobody said it.

What's Armstrong got to do with anything?
Your credibility's just taken quite a toll. Even a blind person can see the evidence against Armstrong. To say what you just said, you have to be wilfully blind. You have to WANT to not see Armstrong's doping.
hillis91 wrote:

Yeah, it is. And what has that got to do with anything?

So I can't judge the performance of a racehorse unless I was once a horse? Flawless logic.

Gesink sucking in the time trial. Cancellara not winning without his motor. Interesting |
