Another rider hit by a car. Rui Costa this time. Nothing's broken, but he'll miss races.

Hopefully all the crashes make the riders wearing a helmet during training. |

There are so many portuguese pros that train without a helmet. I can actually say that maybe 80% of them just use helmet in the races. |

I'm all for requiring it so that whenever someone buys a bike they get shown this picture, just to convince them, hopefully for the rest of their lives, to wear a helmet when riding.

Acordning to this article: https://politiken....972548.ece Sungard will sign as new main sponsor of Riis Cycling. This should be made public during Tour of California.
(Article is in danish, but Google translate is your friend)
EDIT: Caisse probably found a new sponsor too but they announce it later because of Valverde's case.
So now only some replacement for Milram, Bbox and maybe for Columbia.

According to van Gerwen, they have really good talks wo a big sponsor. He will tell the results during Le Tour. I hope it will work, othereise there wouldn`t be a big team in Germany and Team NetApp would be the highest one ^^ |

Cycling at two speeds is a reality. And right now, the Italians are edging closer to the french in that respect
Zomegnan.
Ouch.

Depends on the tolerance of the country towards doping
In Italie it is now very strict.
Team Europcar !!

Speaking of protecting dopers, At any moment the Slovenian federation will give their verdict on the Valjavec case.
Why so quickly? Because they don't care about the evidence and have pretty much said they'll just acquit him and that's it.
Slovenia. Like Spain, but poorer.

Which means, I guess, that AG2r will be sued for sacking a rider "unfairly"?

Cunego said again that he never doped in his career and there shouldn`t be a second chance for dopers. Immediate life-ban for dopers.
He said that he had no pocket money as child and so he never thought on some kind of extra help. He has to work very hard to get what he wants without doping.
Because of his good form he wants to get a good result in the giro and hopes that his chances will be better, if the sport is getting cleaner. |

Floyd finally admits to doping and gives names. I'll bet no one can guess which ones.

I expected this at some point. Floyd hates Armstrong, so telling all he knows was the logical step once he had nothing to lose.
Notice how most of the "ZOMG LANDIS IZ A VICTIM OF A CONSPIRACY U GUYZ" fanboys are going to immediately jump into "LANDIS IS LYING BECAUSE HE WANTS MONEY" mode.
Besides Bruyneel and Armstrong, Landis has also (predictably) named Hincapie and Zabriskie
EDIT: Oh, and he explains how Levi took EPO before one Tour of California, as well
And he also says Andy Rihs, manager of the Phonak team (now BMC) paid for his doping while he rode for them.

Floyd made my day !
That was expected at some point. Strangely enough, there's almost nothing "new" in what he claims, nothing we haven't heard from others or guessed. Sometimes what's so blatant is just the truth, isn't it ?
I'm indeed expecting comments like "the jealous loser is now changing his mind because he needs money badly, but fact is he never had the talent for that sport, so he just doped, as the loser he his. doesn't change a thing about the evilz French conspiracy against US citizen". |

However, Landis said he finally decided to come forward because he was suffering psychologically and emotionally from years of deceit, and because he has become a cycling pariah with little to no chance of ever riding for an elite team again. Prior to speaking with ESPN.com, he said he made his most difficult phone call -- to his mother in Pennsylvania to tell her the truth.
"I want to clear my conscience," Landis said. "I don't want to be part of the problem any more."
BMC, Garmin and Radioshack will all officially comment on this later today.

If he meant what he said in this interview, this will change nothing. Everybody already knew that something like this happened but there were and there won`t be any sanctions. If he had visual proofs or something like this, then it would change, but not telling something in an interview. |
