Well I wouldn't put too much comparison into the Giro and the Tour. I find the Tour peleton much stronger, and the tactical games way tougher, so 7th Giro is a comparison imo, 15th Tour de France isn't... You've never seen Simoni as a real contender for the Tour de France, yet he was a regular contender for the Giro for several years...

Gee, I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that it's impossible to ride top level GC in both.

Contador did a trip of 1900 km in car from Santiago de Compostela to Liege. There is a video in youtube (in spanish):

Well I reckon there are several other examples of a rider doing well at the Vuelta or the Giro, and then the next year focuses on the Tour and does 14th or so...

Well, Menchov won the 2007 Vuelta, then finished 5th in the Giro and 4th in the 2008 Tour.

So Giro is tougher than Tour?? No, you can't really say they have an unchangable difference. Sure, the best riders ride the Tour but some years a lot of them might fail and thus make Giro (or Vuelta) a lot harder and interesting.

I went for Rodriguez who will no longer be racing according to cyclingnews. WHY?!!?!?!!!
EDIT: Though they don't say he's not racing, just that they don't mention he IS racing. Which, is a little odd, considering he'll be the team leader the Fleche I expect. Still, what can you expect off the "best cycling news website in the world" (as they call themselves).

What do you all think of the changed route, well moving the 2nd Passage of the Mur de Huy to only 30km from the finish, but moving around the other climbs.
Do you think it will be pretty similar to previous years with a mass sprint up the Mur de Huy, or do you think that there may be a more select group?
Personally i think it will be the usual Mur de Huy mass sprint, which i quite enjoy watching anyway
Oh and for once i'm going with Cunego :S

They switched the outer and inner loops

Probably the same sprint but with less people

According to their startlist, he's there.
