Klier and Verbist have only really gained 20 seconds on Ten Dam since dropping the rest of their group, remaining a minute and 10 behind the Dutchman. They are a similar gap ahead of Flecha's chase group

With 28km to go they are a minute behind Verbist and Klier - plus a further minute behind Ten Dam. But a matter of 3 km later and the gap to Verbist and Klier has decreased drastically as Ballan attacks!!

Steegmans passes Ballan and bridges up to Ten Dam. It is 101km since Ten Dam attacked, a brilliant effort for him as his teammate now looks to take over the baton for 1/5 of that amount.

But Ballan, Nuyens and Flecha catch up to the Rabobank pair and Ballan pushes hard into 20km to go at the start of the final section of cobbles

Its a 4/5% climb and the attacks are only good for getting towards the front of the group. There is no chance of getting away right now with Boonen and Burghardt having ridden up to the front of the group as they chase Ballan

Theres a split behind Ballan! Surprise surprise, its Boonen behind it and he has a teammate there with Flecha. Gusev and Burghardt are the other 2 who are present
