Denmark has a monopoly law as the one they have in France.
Weird thing is that Mr. Bookmaker participated in several years without anyone saying anything.

just to point out the hypocrisy of it all:
when Milan comes to Denmark to play, are they refused because of the Bwin.com logo on the front of the jersey? no, they're not.
EDIT: Chicchi is finally starting to show some realisation of the big promise he once was.

same reason they participated in ASO events and multiple french races in the last few years and now suddenly they "can't". same reason Lotto get to ride despite infringing the same laws.
Politics. ASO trying to make an irrelevant point, trying to show that they are the ones in charge. |

ASO needed some reason to Piss off UCI, so they picked Unibet and made a crappy excuse for why they wouldnt let Unibet ride

By the way, Alex Rasmussen, the Danish champion, fell during the sprint of the 1st stage of Post Danmark Rundt. He has broken his wrist and will be out for c a month. |

And another Tour of Denmark fact: Mark Cavendish was on the podium to get the Young Rider's Jersey. He was celebrated --- but in fact, it wasn't him who had "won" it. Martin Mortensen had gained bonification seconds on the stage by being in today's breakaway and therefore he was the rightful "winner" |

They didn't even realize it themselves. Martin Mortensen complained about it. Afterwards, they changed the standins. I don't think they would have noticed if not Mortensen had complained.
About Danmark Rundt, I was really hoping to go see it this year. I have missed it for the last 4 years, simply because I haven't been home during the tour, and this year I will probably miss it too. Sunday is the only possible day. They go through my city, and there's the traditional ending on Frederiksberg where I can get VIP-seats - but it all depends on how fast I can get home from the holiday cottage I'm going to |

well, if it makes you feel better...read your own post on the potential excitement of it
as for the Volta a Portugal that is about to start, I'm rarely looking forward to it. but the organisers have done good and the past few years it's actually been pretty exciting. this year I'm actually looking forward to it.
especially with Saunier Duval and Barloworld saying they're both going for the overall win + a bunch of contenders from the local teams (Azevedo, for instance)
and the fact that Barbosa FINALLY won the national road race champs and is looking to FINALLY win the Volta...which he lost by a few hundredths of a second two years ago...
so: I'm actually looking forward to it. weird.

Vuelta a Colombia: Venezuelan Manuel Medina won the first mountain stage along with a few of the other contenders, and a country mile ahead of Santiago Botero, who had the yellow after the prologue and stated winning the Vuelta a Colombia as his season goal.
Post Danmark Rundt stage 2: a bordoure in the pack helped CSC's Matti Breschel to win.
