Danilo Di Luca impossible to beat during the Giro... I edited Di Luca to Free Agent and 55s in every stat. Now it's Nibali winning 8+ stages in the Giro, not that much of a difference.
It's kinda frustrating sponsors don't recognise KoM jerseys. Wearing the KoM jersey on Volta a Portugal was my only goal i could really achieve with my custom team. |

Well, as an attempt at anti-frustration, I had the GC leader (Posthuma) in the Eneco Tour crash and drop out in the final 10 km. of the last stage, thereby winning it as my rider (Kunitski) was second at that time.
I was so happy, as it was a season goal to win it and I had already given up hope. |

Chris-Anker Sorensen was leading the KOM competition in some small Tour race, in preparation for being my team leader in the Tour of Romandie and Tour of Catalunya......
......on the penultimate stage he gets caught in a crash and retires with a fractured wrist, thereby missing the Tour of Romandie altogether and screwing up his race fitness for Catalunya! |

I dont remember the name of the race but I had K.Kirchen in yellow by a minute or so.. The last stage was 90km and totaly flat. I simmed it, and the result:
- a rider from a team I`ve never heard of won with 5min 31 sec!!
hehe come on!! 5 min on 90km.. He took the yellow with 3min. |

It was the vuelta last stage of the vuelta (pcm 06 i believe).
both my leader (Vinokourov back then) and Basso i believe had the same . ( i was wearing the yersey). But because basso crossed he finishline first (masssprint) he won the GC
Basso : 32 nd
Vinokourov : 35 th

Got my sprinter in an awesome position, just latching onto a two man lead out, so he was the 3rd man. Then at 4km he decides to stop following that train and switches to the other side of the road WTF!, he loses the wheel of the guy on the other side of the road who I didn't tell him to go to, and ends up with the non-sprinters. What a joke... I had some rage after that happened. :/. To top things off Ben Swift was 1cm away from the guy I wanted him to follow and he failed also. They are both now free agents. |

With my custom team in 2010 due to lack of form (I blamed myself a lot for this) I couldn't get any TT championship, except the Colombian one, despite having good TT riders, I got so frustated that then I started to sim even the road race championship, which I knew I wasn't going to get a victory, fortunately Fabian Wegmann got a national title for my team.
Now I'm starting July signing Bozic, Wiggins and Mic Rogers for 2011, also I'm waiting to be chosen for the Vuelta '10 preparing a strong team (Nibali, UrĂ¡n, Daniel Martin, Roche, Ardila, Greipel for the sprints, maybe Boom, Wegmann and another climber to be decided) |

Its 2011, and one of Team SKY's season goals was to get a top 3 in the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Now if you consider that my team for the race is:
Cancellara
Haussler
Boasson Hagen
Eisel
Pliuschin
Bellis
you could imagine this being easily achievable!
Anyway, Haussler is on a -5 for the day, Cancellara is on a 0 - so Fabian gets the nod as Team Leader. Pozzato attacks with 25km to go, and ends up winning by over a minute.
Coming into the final sprint, Cancellara is in the second group on the road. 3 riders (Van summeren and Chavanel iirc), contesting 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Canc gets on the wheel of the other two, and as the final km approaches, powers ahead to go for 2nd place! Only he doesn't...... he pulls up alongside the other two, and all 3 of them cross the line in a photo finish.........Canc gets 4th.....bugger!!
PS there is a happy ending, as another Team goal was Top 5 in Paris-Roubaix - Cancellara, supported by Haussler and the boys, attacks with 30km to ride, and takes the win with a minute to spare over Pozzato.

With Team Columbia I was heading to the cobbled classics. First in Vlanders I have Hincapie and Burghardt both in the front group and looking good. With 50 km to go Hincapie has a flat tire and drops back to the second group.
I don't worry as I still have Burghardt poised for a top ten finish. Of course he gets a flat tire with about 40 to go. None of the other favorites had any accidents, so my riders both drop out of the top ten an finish 15th and in the 30ies... Bugger.
Then Paris-Robaix rolls on. Here my sponsors want a top five place, which is a stretch with Burghardt and Hincapie as my best cobble riders. Nevertheless I have Burghardt well placed in the final (Hincapie was gone due to horrible form of the day). Cancellara attacs and I choose to let Burghardt follow and the two pull away together. None of the other favourites are following, so I am beginning to hope that I can get second, or maybe even beat Cancellara in the final.
That hope dissappears as Burghardt suddenly stops in the middle of his attack. Another flat tire. I can do nothing but watch Cancellara pull away and the second group pass my rider and leave him to take 13th. Again none of the other favorites had punctures or crashes...
These results are fairly good considering Burghardts cobbleskills, but I have a feeling it could have been so much better. I was mildly annoyed...
