Is there any chance that you'll make a 'special' version which only includes variants made for PCM08 and PCM09?
After all, not being able to play a stage in 3D can have rather huge side effects |

you will be able to do that yourself. All stages will get a name attachment 1997_ 2006_ 2007_ 2008_ etc. You can then edit the variant file itself and select which variants are allowed.
But let me finish this first then we see how it works out. I still need two complete years to finish and after that i will test it. And i think i will add stages from 2007 and 2008 as first variants to make sure that you have at least 4 years where you can play all. |

we´d have to know which variants come out of which PCM version though, but i guess you´ll make a short list of it ?
But anyway, it´s going to be an improvement to the status quo regardless
Out of curiosity : How can you quickly sim through so many seasons ? Can you make yourself unemployed in the DB with no side efects and just sim it without having to take tasks ? |

Well a core i7 upped to 4,4ghz and ddr3 @ 2100 mhz definatly helps to speed up thinks. i jump through the first complete season and i will start simulating then with all my variants (later i will also do real gameplay tests). it should take about 13h to get ahead 20 years (not constantly running the game i got stuff to do) but like i said i still need to extract data from db for 2 years.
I will definitly not guarantee stability or anything for the stages or the usuage of the variants. i will test some and play a little and i think in one week i will upload it all. I hope to be finished with my work by tommorrow or on sunday. Then i will start a career and simulate quickly to 2010 where i will start my game and play all grand tours and selected stages (i mostly play mounains, hills and TT i always simulate through flat cuz they bore me). That should bring me until Friday with real game play to the year 2015 i hope. |

phew i'm done. 56 race variations each year and a total of over 300 variations. Unfortunatly i made a little mixup so i need to fix a few files but that will only take an hour. Then i will start testing so far i'm in 2010 in my game. |

aparanntly we should be able to insert them with the advanced Editor (Full Editor) you can download on this page.
Can´t be sure unless it´s tried though |

You have to make some changes with an editor. |

You should worry about that when i upload it all. It will still take some time i want to do some testing and playing to make sure all stages are there and can at least be simulated over (i only ever play mountains, and TT and a few selected hill stages in 3D).
Ah Crue True what u mentioned with stages really crashing got fixed by me months ago (some older xml stage files have certain french or spain characters in names that will lead to immiediaty crash like é È). I'm currently searchin for files i haven't already fixed and so you will be able to play all stages.
I added Grand tours from 1983, 1984, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008. Pro Tour stage rices normaly have 6 variations. CT stage races normaly have 3 variations. All in all there are over 300 variations added by me.
And you get a message about the race profiles on each third january so you can start planning your season and the trainings for your riders early. |

This is really great news when you release it, will you write a small guide on how to make it work with the editor? Because I think that some in here (me) will find it a little hard without a guide. |

i'm testing now and i stepped over 5 stages in season 2010 which can only be simulated. One giro TT, one TDF TT and one mountain stage of TDF. And the burgos course is bugged.
I tried to fix the stages but i can'T see whats wrong. Maybe there are some stage makers out there who want to look over a few files?
K now im back to gaming. I'm in season 2011 at the first Giro Mountain stage. My top man is Julian Berrendero (Mo:82, TT 80) and this time it's going to be a hard giro. Sastre, Frank Schleck, Anton, Soler, Di Luca, Basso and some other top contenders will make it hard to place in the top three. Later on i have to battle in the TDF with Pantani (Mo:85, TT: 69) to get in the top three also. Luckily this years tour only has one individual TT (one TTT and one mountain TT). Then at the end of the season i will bring indurain into play to challenge the vuelta contenders. My aim is to win the vuelta with Indurains overwhelming TT qualitiey (Mo:78, TT: 85). |

cool what do i need to do? change city1 to what?
i had tipped that it would have been the isolated buildings that caused it but after removing all it still crashed so i think your right. so i just need to know to what i need to change them.
Also if anyoune knows a small xml editor which goes to all xml files and replaces the lines then that would be cool. I had one once but i deleted it somehow and i can't remember the name. |

In previous PCM games (PCM06 and possibly also PCM07, don't quite remember), you could place a city with a simple <city>-tag. In newer versions, you have to make the cities yourself using isolated buildings. |

awesome. it works now. I replaced city1.xml and stuff just with something else and then i made a custom tour with the tdf mountain stage and i loaded flawlessly and could be played in 3d.
so i just need to search now for a small xml editing app. I'm really glad now cause tbh the crashing stages were important ones in the Grand tours so it kinda pi...ed me off that i couldn'T play them. But now these things shouldn'T occur no more. |

Open the PCM06/07 stage in the PCM09 editor, and go to the points where there are a city og village. Under there you choose if the city is an village, small city etc, it is a blank spot, this spot as to be filled with one of the city options that are available.
