Tour Down Under Stage 3
Tankink won the first climb of the day and it seems that he has no rival for the KoM jersey
A breakaway was made after that climb, including Tankink
On the last climb of the day, and the second one, Tankink attacked again from the breakaway group
No one was able to come after him and he got another 2 points
Behind him Nuyens attacked from the pack. He caught Tankink on the downhill and continued on the flat section all by himself. He was caught in the final metres but it was too late for anyone to take over him. 2 stages in 2 days for Nuyens and now he is the new yellow jersey

Tour Down Under Stage 4
There was no breakaway at the first intermediate sprint so Nuyens decided to take some bonifications there, which could help keep the yellow jersey. He was first and got 3 bonification seconds
Edvald Boasson Hagen was the only rider able to breakaway today but it didn't ended too good for him
Again Brown is nowhere in the mass sprint. Leezer is there in a good position
O'Grady comes with a grat acceleartion and he clearly takes the lead
No one was able to stopStuey today and he got the stage win
In the last kilometre there was a small uphill section and because of that Nuyens managed to end 5th, better than Leezer
Fischer, one of the big guys, had a puncture in the final kilometres so he is now out of the overall rankings
With the seconds won at the first intermediate sprint, Nuyens managed to keep the yellow jersey for another day. Tomorrow we will pass twice the Willunga Hill so an interesting race is expected
Though that he didn't win any points today, Tankink is still in the KoM jersey and it seems that no one will be able to stop him

Tour Down Under Stage 5
There were a lot of escapes, inclurind some big names like Arvesen, Eisel or Pliuschin
But Clement and Flens never let them take a big advantage over the pack
Before the last climb on Willunga a lot of riders attacked from the pack. One of them was the second rider in the overall rankings, Greg Van Avermaet
And Nuyens went right after his compatriot
Brutt, from the brekaway group, was first at the summit
Behind him there was a big group, the rest of the breakaway and some favourites, including the yellow jersey, Nick Nuyens
Right after the climb ended, Brutt was caught and Luis Leon Sanchez attacked
No one was able to come after him and with less than 2km to go Sanchez is still in front
But a group with O'Grady, Devolder, Sijmens and Fedrigo is coming really fast from behind
Nuyens is in a group behind trying not to lose too much time
Sanchez seems to have some problems at the moment and he is caught by Devolder inside the final kilometre
Devolder takes the stage win, as Sanchez was completly dead. Devolder has a big chance to take the yellow jerses as well
Nuyens lost 52 seconds and not only that he lost the yellow jersey, he is only 9th overall. This wasn't really the best day for him

Tour Down Under Final Stage
Last stage in Australia and it's going to end in a mass sprint. We actually have a train this time
After losing the yellow jersey yesteray, Nuyens is now working for Leezer and Graeme Brown
When the sprint starts Leezer and Brown are in a perfect positon
But Fred Rodriguez, who stayed behind Brown, accelerated now and he is a real threat to Leezer and Brown
Last corner... Rodriguez is still in front and Brown seems to be losing speed at the moment
Rodriguez takes the stage win beating Cavendish, but obvious Cavendish didn't have the best position there. Brown finished 5th after being too slow in the final metres
Devolder won yesterday in the Willunga Hill stage and as always that was the decisive stage of the race so Devolder wins Tour Down Under 2009
If Devolder took the yellow jersey from Nuyens yesterday, O'Grady took the green jersey from Van Avermaet
Tankink has been wearing the KoM jersey since the first stage and no one else was interesting to beat him so Tankink brings home one jersey for us from Australia
Except the KoM jersey all the rankings were decided yesterday. Van Avermaet didn't have a great day today and he lose both the green and white jersey. Ignatiev took the white jersey and he is the best U25 rider in Tour Down Under

February Calendar
After warming up in January with some Aussie races, February is the first month of the year that comes with some interesting races. The month starts with ASO's race Tour of Qatar, where Boom, Freire and Flecha will make their debut this season. Denis Menchov and Robert Gesink will also ride their first races of the season in Vuelta a Andaluci and Amgen Tour of California. The month will end with the first cobble race of the season, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad where we should see Nuyens, Flecha and Langeveld making an early preparation for the April Classics.

Our second race of the season is Tour of Qatar. It's a race for the sprinters, but the strong wind which is the specific of this zone could an obstacle for the sprinters.
Oscar Freire will be our leader for this race and he is the main sprinter in the race so he will race with no.1 on his back. At a first look on the sprinter's list Freire doesn't have a real rivall maybe except Fischer, Casper or Alex Rasmussen.
Team for Tour of Qatar:
1. Óscar Freire
2. Lars Boom
3. Stef Clement
4. Juan Antonio Flecha
5. Sebastian Langeveld
6. Joost Posthuma
7. Kai Reus
8. Jos Van Emden

Tour of Qatar Stage 1
Usually Liquigas is one of the best teams when it comes to TTTs but they didn't bring a good team in Qatar so one of the favourites, Fischer, will lose some time today
Astana didn't let us down though they didn't bring any of their stars here
We had a good team for this opening stage, but only Boom and Clement brough a good speed to our train as the rest of team didn't have a great day. Freire and Reus even lost a few more seconds in the final metres
Saxo Bank was the main favourite for this TTT and they took the win, which means that one of their riders will be in yellow tomorrow
Their sprinter, Alex Rasmussen, was the first rider to cross the finish line so he gets the yellow jersey on the podium
Results
1. Team Saxo Bank 14'42
2. Astana Cycling Team + 6
3. Landbouwkrediet - Colnago + 12
4. Team Milram s.t.

Tour of Qatar Stage 2
With 15km to go the whole team moved in front of the pack as because of the wind some bordures could be made
The other riders didn't pay atention to do that and soon a gap was made
None of the strong riders was in front of the pack at that moment so the whole team is now in front all alone
After helping a lot the others Langeveld shows that he is still on early fitness form and he is left behind by him team - mates
Less than 5km to go and Reus starts having some problems as well
The other 6 are still in front but it seems that the pack is coming fast now. Also only Flecha and Freire are able to follow Boom as the others are losing speed
Reus is caught by 2 Vorarlberg guys that went way from the pack as well, while Langeveld is already back in the bunch
Van Emden, Clement and Posthuma are also caught by the 2 German riders and the pack is now right after the corner. It seems that no time gaps will be made after all
In front Freire and Flecha look like they are letting Boom take the stage win
And it happened the Dutch Champion took the win after a great team work
After being nowhere today, Rasmussen is still in yellow as all the riders were registered with the same time
Maybe he wasn't able to take the yellow jersey but Boom will wear the points jersey tomorrow
