A really tough loss for Astana - That kinda piles the pressure on the likes of Kloedon, Paulinho, Zubeldia and Popovich.
Did I detect Popo having some issues yesterday also - and in general he doesn't seem to be climbing that well?
Predictions for today - perfect for Voeckler for me or maybe Sandy Casar? |

Moncoutié is my guess although I didn't bet on him (or anyone else). But more importantly, I'm pretty sure we'll see Evans on the attack today.
Everyone are saying that the mountains are more tough than they look on the profile. Evans has said he's not going to waste any opportunities. I'm looking forward to this stage! |

I hope you're right, Mike, because not only the profile looks lame, but the numbers too. Anyways, with or without GC changes, today we will see quite a few attacks.

We'll see.
Some strong riders in today's break, though:
Christophe Moreau (Agritubel), Heinrich Haussler (Cervelo TestTeam), Jens Voigt (Team Saxo Bank), Juan Manuel Garate (Rabobank), Ruben Perez Moreno (Euskatel), Rigoberto Uran (Caisse d'Epargne) and Sylvain Chavanel (Quickstep) |

Only Haussler, Perez Moreno and Chavanel out front now...
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

I'm abit late but I have been a sleep and just heard Levi is out Daamn now It will only be 1 and 2 for Astana. And not 1-2-3 in Paris..

Crikey 8 minutes - are AG2R chasing at all !?!
Biathlon - a really tough break for Leiphiemer, as good as time trialer as he is I get the feeling Levi was not quite in his best of form for this TdF and would have struggled with the last week. Top 10 maybe the third on the podium I don't think so.

They've still got Klöden...
Not that they could have gotten or still can get a 1-2-3 though. If that happens I'll move to a parallel universe coincidently located right under a rock and hide there untill next year.

Oh no, can you imagine a world where the horrible injustice of not having a team do a 1-2-3 is tolerated?

And here we see the reason why Haussler hasn't worked for Hushovd in the sprints, he wants to go in a breakaway and win a stage. |

Feel bad for Leipheimer.
Think he would have cracked on Ventoux, but the way the race was shaping up he was looking at a great chance at a top 5, definitely top 10. I wanted to see him on the TT as well, had a shot at a stage win there.
I don't think it's a huge blow for Astana as a whole though. It probably takes some of the moves they could have made away... but with Kloden still highly placed along with Contador and Armstrong, they can still do a lot of strategic attacking to weaken the field. Just not to the same degree.

Today's Sign Of the Apocalypse:
Bob Roll was decently coherent and intelligent in todays pre-race show. |

Levi Out...this will hurt some dream teams...Not mine!
I think this will be a quiet stage untill the last few km's again. Everyone will want to be 100% for sunday.

Why the hell is the peloton not working? They have their radios, the three guys upfront are not too tough, AG2R at least should be pushing at the front like they mean it... |

Euskaltel going all in for the mountain classification. Pellizotti taking the sprint rather easily anyway |

Fantastic battle between Pellizotti and Martinez. Its a nice one to see - a guy from the Giro against a guy from the Vuelta. Euskatel has the team around Martinez and Pelli on his own....
Officially Martinez took it... though later on in the stage it should be interesting.
This KOM comp is really hot this year - I still see a couple of French riders having a go for it later on like Feillu, Voeckler and Moncoutie! |
