Jens Voigt, Pellizotti, Duque and Fredigo is the break today. Looks like they will let them go now.

I'm not happy with the Pyrenneis stages this year, hasn't affected the GC at all, what is Pudhomme doing, 3 mountain stages of breakaways not good. |

i think thats the point. They don't want the GC decided after the first week. It is all going to come down to that final stage (20).
I don't know weather i like it or not though. |

No, the point is they're tired of being accused of making the routes too hard whenever someone gets caught doping, so from now on they're neutering one of the two mountainous regions.
This year it's all about the Alps.
Next year, being the 100th anniversary of the Pyrenees being used in the Tour, it'll be all about the Pyrenees. |

Redant said they'd try to shed the pack on the Aspin.
Not a peep from Lotto so far. |

a series of attacks has created a group of 6 just ahead of the peloton with Van Den Broeck, Karpets, Moinard, Martinez, Txurruka, Ten Dam, and Paulinho.
just a 20 second gap

Don't ever trust Phil Liggett on anything
A few weeks ago I was watching the 1993 Giro DVD. Those DVDs where they write the text and highlights after the Giro has long finished, you know?
Davide Cassani attacks at one point. The graph below says "1st Milano - Torino 1991"
This was 1993. Phil Liggett's commentary was "Cassani won Milano - San Remo 3 years ago".

Would have been better to have had these in reverse order, I think, so the mountain top finish came on the 3rd day.
And still no-one caught doping while on the subject. |

Agreed, he's an idiot. Sherwen is as well, but he gets a pass for being so badass, considering he runs a gold mine |
