Also LOL at the database: Pauwels and Seeldrayers almost as good as Martin, Kreuziger and Klöden in the mountains |

Question to Andreas Klöden: How do you feel about racing with Vinokourov again, who ruined your chances for a podium place in the 07 tour by testing positive?
Also what are your season goals?
"Well, it doesnt do a friendship any good. But it was as worse for me as for the other riders of Astana at the time. The first time Vino and i met again since our ways seperated was in december 2008 on a first meeting with some riders of BMW-Ubisoft. There we have talked for a long time, put everything aside and went to get a beer. I will still get other chances at a podium in Paris, maybe this year, who knows. I haven't set specific goals yet, but i have some ideas."

I boosted Martin, his mountain/hill stats were worse then Pauwels/Seeldrayers.

This is the first race of the season from the sunny Australia. This will be our first test as a team in a real race.
Our leader for the race, Heinrich Haussler is being protected by Jani Brajkovic, wile showing off our jerseys and finding our way in the peleton.
The race was very fierce with alot of riders trying to get away. Also our own, Nicolas Roche tried to get away but he only got a maximum lead of 1 minute, altough it was enough for him to pick up the first KoM points. The only break to finnaly escape and get a lead of about 4-5 minutes were Maté and Vierhouten.
And Dekkers, but he never made it to the first group. He got reeled in with 30k to go. The others with 25k to go. To bad for them that they didnt had enough energy left and would eventually lose 2 minutes on the peleton.
Here you see the BMW train comming to deliver Haussler.
Zabriskie and Ignatiev did their work perfectly. And then it was Van Avermaet his job to deliver Haussler perfectly.
Which he did and resulted in Haussler winning the stage, taking the leaders jersey and making me very happy.

Second stage today. Altough it is cataloged as a flat race the riders will have a hard time, also due to the warm weather. The finish is uphill so Pozatto has a great chance of winning this. Before the start there was an interview with Haussler, the winner of yesterdays stage.
Journalist: "Heinrich, how do you feel after yesterday?"
HH: "I feel great, the form is great and so is the moral."
Journalist: "What do you think will happen today, who will win?"
HH: "In my opinion the stage is pretty hard, especcialy the last part, with already so many km's in the legs some people might have to let a gap. As for the victory? Hmmm, i think Pozzato or Boonen."
Journalist: "And what about you?"
HH: " It all depends on how well i handle the stage, we will see ..."
Journalist: "Thx for the interview Heinrich."
BMW-Ubisoft is quite succesfull so far, holding all four of the jerseys. Actually Haussler leads in 3 of them but yellow has prior.
Today, Roche tried to get in the breakaway again, but it didn't work, but he did win the KoM just when the peleton caught the first break. Then suddenly Roy Sentjens attacked and took 15 seconds. No one tought he was a treath but he made a gap of 3 minutes all by himself altough he had a pretty hard time with a head wind. But before the last descend he was caught by the peleton leaded by BMW-Ubisoft.
On the last descend Roche tried again, but he was already tired of the first break and the hilly stage and got reeled in before the uphill finish.
With only 2k to go Haussler was in Fisher's wheel, but Pozzato followed him. Did Heinrich had enough energy left?
Unfortunatly he didn't and got pasted by 4 other riders. And like everyone predicted, Pozzato won and gets at +0 seconds in the GC. And because of the uphill finish and the high speed by Pozzato the peleton splitted and alot of racers lost time.

Thirth stage today. A relativily easy stage for everyone, altough riders will have to watch out for there position because there is alot of wind. Lets hope all goes well.
One of the groups in front are Frederik Willems and Roy Sentjens, who has recovered nicely after yesterdays solo, with a 2 minute gap. But they get reeled in smootly by the peleton.
But before them are still Bak and Tuft, and Tuft is a pretty good time trialist, so it was pretty hard to reel them in. And we caught them with 10k to go.
The BMW train delivered Haussler on the wright spot but Pozzato, Boonen and Cooke weren't to far behind.
But the powerfull Haussler keeps ahead of the rest and wns his second stage in the TDU. It looks like he is in great shape for the spring classics, but so is Pozzato.
Stage result:
1 Heinrich Haussler Team BMW-Ubisoft 3h22'09
2 Filippo Pozzato Team Katusha s.t.
3 Tom Boonen Quick·Step s.t.
4 Martin Elmiger AG2R La Mondiale s.t.
5 Baden Cooke Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team s.t.

8 Robert Förster Team Milram s.t.
9 Julian Dean Garmin - Slipstream s.t.
10 Elia Rigotto Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni - Androni Giocattoli s.t.

3 Tom Boonen Quick·Step 22 46
4 Martin Elmiger AG2R La Mondiale 18 40

KoM:
1 Nicolas Roche Team BMW-Ubisoft 2 6
2 Lars Ytting Bak Team Saxo Bank 2 2
3 Luis Ángel Maté Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni - Androni Giocattoli 0 2
Heinrich Haussler Fwitter: Won the stage today, Pozzato was comming in close but i hold him off, feeling great, going to sleep now.
BMW-Ubisoft Fwitter: Great TDU so far, lets hope we keep it up!

Fourth Stage, pure sprinter stage. Altough the wind may play an evil part again.
Todays break is a large one, but no one is a risk for us if we control. And that is what we did. We controlled the peleton and reeled them back in with some help from other teams aswell.
Boonen is behind his lead out man Velo, behind Boonen is Elmiger and then comes Haussler. But behind us the peleton starts to split due to the high speed.
Boonen starts the sprint but gets pasted by Elmiger. Haussler is in Elmiger's wheel but Elmiger looks pretty strong today. Can he still pass him?
Elmiger was strong today and wins the stage, Haussler becomes second, but he still scores alot of points and takes 4 seconds bonus, he retain his yellow jersey.
Stage Results:
1 Martin Elmiger AG2R La Mondiale 3h22'27
2 Heinrich Haussler Team BMW-Ubisoft s.t.
3 Tom Boonen Quick·Step s.t.
4 Murilo Fischer Liquigas s.t.
5 Baden Cooke Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team s.t.

7 Mark Cavendish Team Columbia - High Road s.t.
8 Lieuwe Westra Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team s.t.
9 Koldo Fernández de Larrea Euskaltel - Euskadi + 38
10 Manuel Quinziato Liquigas s.t.
11 Julian Dean Garmin - Slipstream s.t.
12 Daniele Pietropolli LPR Brakes Farnese Vini s.t.
13 Sergio Marinangeli LPR Brakes Farnese Vini s.t.
14 Bert Grabsch Team Columbia - High Road s.t.
15 Aitor Galdos Euskaltel - Euskadi s.t.
Most of the riders, including most of my team lost 38 seconds in the last phase, luckely Haussler didn't. But one of my concurrents did lose time, Pipo Pozzato
GC:

Todays stage will probobly decide who will take the GC. The stage isn't so hard but alot of people might take their chance on the final hill.
Todays break consists out of 8 people, nobody can threaten Haussler so we gave them 7 minutes to start with.
But at the front Duran, from the long break, wins the stage, if i see this it would have been better to have reeled it back in.
Like it was predicted alot of favorites attacked on the final hill, luckely Haussler was able to follow and stay in the group Boonen/Elmiger. But before this group there is another group. With Guttierez and Devolder. They are both on +53 second of Haussler, so lets hope we finish in time.
With the last energy Haussler has left, he gives it his all. Will it be enough?
Stage Results:

Today is the last stage of the Tour Down Under. The only way to lose the jersey is if Elmiger wins today, lets hope he doesn't but he looks pretty strong.
The stage is pretty fast so it's almost impossible to breakaway, that's why there were no succesfull breaks today. But because of the high speed the KoM, Nicolas Roche, crashes.
But luckely for him he can still make it back after a hard chase. But it costed alot of energy and Roche wouldn't sprint today.
When the sprint starts it looks like Elmiger is going to win. But then Vaitkus comes and wins the stage. Elmiger is second which means we keep the GC.
Stage Results:
1 Tomas Vaitkus Astana Cycling Team 2h02'29
2 Martin Elmiger AG2R La Mondiale s.t.
3 Baden Cooke Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team s.t.
4 Tyler Farrar Garmin - Slipstream s.t.
5 Elia Rigotto Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni - Androni Giocattoli s.t.
6 Heinrich Haussler Team BMW-Ubisoft s.t.
7 Assan Bazayev Astana Cycling Team s.t.
8 Filippo Pozzato Team Katusha s.t.
9 Edvald Boasson Hagen Team Columbia - High Road s.t.
