Again. He has won in a Pro Tour race. He beat Cavendish, Hushovd, Boonen, McEwen, Ciolek, Pettachi in a sprint on stage 3 of the tirreno adriatico.
As did Cancellara 2 years ago at the tour, no one is giving him 83 sprint.
Farrar has been remarkably consistent this year, as you were saying he has had loads of top 5's. However not being able to keep Cavendishs wheel and the fact that Feillu caught him implies to me that he is not as fast as the top guys, although his positioning is definately world class.

It's still just one victory, and most of the guys you mentioned beat him on other stages. He is without doubt one of the top sprinters, but still needs a big victory. His time will come, but as of now he's not the second best sprinter. You mentioned earlier that he had a bunch of 2nd places in the Giro. He had 2, but other than that and his 2nd place in the Tour, which notable races did he have a bunch of 2nd and 3rd places in? |

He was 2nd in a stage in Romandie. Beaten by Freire. But in 3rd, 4th and 5th was Koldo Fernandez, Gilbert and Sijmens... Impressive? Delta Tour Zeeland is a 2.1 Race, he won the prologue, but in the 1st sprinter stage Petacchi beat him. He was 2nd and neither of the guys mentioned before was behind him. 2nd sprint stage he was 2nd again, this time behind Robert Wagner of Skil Shimano.. No big names other than Petacchi. |

but in that 2nd sprint stage he beat petacchi and if I remember correctly Davis was in that race and some other sprinters. He consistently beats every sprinters but yet he's not better than them.

I never said Davis was a better sprinter than Farrar anyways, Petacchi got a stage, Farrar didn't. He got his 2nd place in the Tour on a stage where he had Cavendish's wheel and the other good sprinters wasn't even close. There are many sprinters who have beaten the top few sprinters, once or a few times. But it doesn't make them better. Farrar has just had his big breakthrough, so you can't say he is better than all the other big sprinters just yet, because he doesn't have a GT win and just 1 PT win.
But maybe you can soon, he can still win a stage in the Tour or keep getting good results over time. But right now, without more big results, no.

Thor Hushovd covered more ground than Cav in that sprint. He would have challenged Cavendish and at least beaten Farrar if his sprint wasn't ruined by the crash... |

Rojas two times?
Other than that, I like them, the high stats for everyone makes the sprints more unpredictable... At least when Cav isn't participating... |

Hushovd has proved enough to be 82 at sprint. The rest are ok. |

Plenty, but he also deserves a 50 mountain stat, a 52 hill stat, and rec, end, and sta stats all in the fifties as well.
Haedo can kick with the best in the world. But he can't get to the line anywhere but in domestic US racing. |

Ok with the other stats that kinda makes sense now, cos even though he's won 5 stages of my home tour and a few other US races, he hasn't really done it in PT events. |

What would you guys give Boasson Hagen in stats?
In my opinion he should have good flat, tt, stamina, and sprint/acc stats. Have watched a few youtube videos of him in action, aswell as watching him in the national championships and he has impressed me. |

What annoys me is devolders ridiculously overrated cobble stat. 82!!!! WTF surely a 79 would be more suitable especially with his 83 flat. |

And of course I forgot to ask about his cobble stat! He won Gent - Wevelgem, but how is that race rated contra P-R and RvV? |

My point was that the other sprinters wasn't even close when the sprint started.
Anyway, I've changed my opinion here. Farrar is definately as good as Hushovd, Bennati, Boonen and Freire. I'm not sure about Petacchi because I don't know any recent sprints where several of the sprinters including Petacchi was in top form in the same race. But Farrar still needs more wins to prove himself as the 2nd best sprinter. I'm actually disappointed with alot of the "big" guys in this Tour so I'm not gonna say anything more for now because there are so many other guys who are capable of beating them that giving them all accurate stats would be really hard. |
