No. Never used him. I am a huge Panthers fan so he was our mortal enemy and I saw him a lot. 2 times a year he would drive a defense crazy. They had to plan there whole week around him. That makes him one of the best QBs.

Matt i am sorry but you are way wrong. Vick was not nearly as good a qb as you like to think he was. He wasn't crap, but he also wasn't going to lead any team to the super bowl. And in fact toward the end of his first spell in the nfl, teams were starting to take him out of the game, and forced him to beat them through the air, which he was not able to do. But if you want to run the wildcat formation he might work, but i don't think that gimick offense will work for much longer. We are talking about NFL defense not college, where these superior athletes can get away with some of this stuff. It is the same reason probably that Pryor will dominate at ohio state, but has little chance in the pros. You have to be a threat to throw the ball to be a decent nfl qb.

that statement proves your wrong. His last year was the year he had his most rushing yards, passing touchdowns, and 2nd most passing yards.

If you want to end this arguement, all you have to do is ask Falcons fan who they would rather have, Ryan or Vick? Case Closed.

No that wouldn't prove anything. A lot of Vick supporters wouldn't say they were Vick supporters anymore. Plus Vick took the falcons much farther than Ryan has and ever will.

Matt,
First off that last year he played more games than he had in any other year. He also had 13 INTs that year, also 13 the year before, and 12 the year before. He completed 52.6 % of his passes (that’s a joke). His qb rating was 75.7, meanwhile Mcnabb’s (the eagles starter) lowest qb rating (outside of his rookie year) was 77.8, and that was in his second year. 2400+ yards, the second most of his career, is even eclipsed by mcnabb’s 2500+ passing yards that he put up in 2005. Oh and in that season he only played 9 games. Face it Vick’s influence was waning, and he was shown to be an average to lower level qb.
And you’re crazy if you think the falcons would have been better off with vick than ryan. And secondly you can’t go by their total yards, you have to go by the team offensive production under the two. Because while vick is running for a lot of his yards, ryan is handing it off. So your stat proves nothing. The falcons were much more productive under ryan than vick, and really is that not the job of the qb, to manage the offense. I know you are pretty young, and vick was probably the shiznit to you, but he just wasn’t that good.

So 3 pro bowls in 4 full years of playing isn't good? In his final year he played 15 games which wasn't his most games. He was average passer but his super talent at running is what made him great. Michael Vick singel handed took the Falcons to the playoffs. Ryan's job was to not screw up while Turner took the team on his shoulders.

He played 16 that last season. It made him great in the beginning, but as the seasons past he wasn't having the same impact. And the falcons considered getting rid of him, even prior to the dog stuff, because he wasn't cutting it anymore.

if you're producing on the field, a team will always put up with a player with an attitude.

Not when he flicks off the crowd and continues to hang out with the wrong crowd saying the wrong things and having a Marijuana water bottle. Obviously they put up with him because he was great. He never was kicked off the team until the Dog fighting.

Well I can agree with you when you say that Vick wasn't the best QB because it's apparent that he wasn't. The Falcons had Matt Schaub that year as their #2, look at what he's done. Plus they play with a West Coast Offense which required Vick to pass the ball. So yeah, they were definitely going to shop him around because he wasn't the best fit for their system.
His attitude is resemblant to many players in professional sports let alone the NFL. But the dog fighting was the main reason that he was tossed as well as the acquisition of Matt Ryan and the success they had with him last season. |

Even if Atlanta was in dying need for a Qb they wouldnt take Vick after what they put him through. At least it looks like he has changed.

Well you can't be so sure about that. Whenever someone makes a public appearance they'll be on their best behavior. Unless of course they're a moron.
Vick's acting like this so he can be re-instated in Week 6 for certain. If this is really how he's going to act after the fact, we'll have to wait and see. But yes, I do think he's changed, thanks to Tony Dungy. |

As a native Chicagoan, I couldn't be more pleased on both fronts. My Bears are looking very good. I think Favre is going to be a problem for the Vikings. He was not very good with New York last year. Getting too old.
Shame the way Favre has handled things the last couple of years. Chicagoans have two favorite teams: the Bears and whomever is playing the Packers. Despite my hatred of the Packers, I always had a lot of respect for and appreciated the play of Favre. I've completely lost respect of him now, though. |

I have a feeling that we're going to struggle with the injuries to defense and if we keep calling plays that means that Delhomme has throw to win us the game instead of using our superior running game |
