I have a 9800 GT and 1 in 3 stages goes to the desktop.
I think all the drivers we use nvidea have the same problem.
When a patch that will fix? |

I have an ATI Sapphire and it crashes a lot. And I suppose that after the .3 patch it got worse. It never happened twice in the same stage, but it is annoying to start everything over and over, especially when it happens after racing a lot of miles. |

It happens sometimes to me too but not every stage.. More like once every 3 or 4 stages. And then it works again the second time. It's really annoying though. |

lol omg! ok so it is true then.... ??? Most of those that crash during stages, crashes becouse they run on GeForce cards?
omfg Cyanide, u did it good this time... i DO remember from the earlier versions that they recomended ATI, cus you'd get some better ql on riders/roads and so on. But this shite just sucks.
& im serious, for now i havent seen one post with the same problems (pcm.exe - PCM_NiDX9RendererVC80.dll), that is not a GeForce card.
So this means i've gotta buy a ATI, when i got two 8800GT in SLI screw em, i want my money back

I recently got the game and am having the same problem. I could live with simulation, but I didn't buy the game just for that. I, too, have a GeForce card, though I don't really know much technologically. I have looked through advice on all subforums here, including looking through old editions' techincal issues with the game. I have followed a lot of the tips, spending hours trying everything I can to get the 3D mode to work without crashing. |

yeah, not 100% confirmed, but when one dude changes his nvidia for a ati, and then it runs without crashes.
Theres many possibilities...
One is, Old Nvidias might work... or maybe it just some series that got this problem.
Another is driverversions, i've tried two for now, or three. think i tried rolling back too 180.48, also tried 185.85 and 186.18. With no luck.
My next "options" here would be the new driver released yesterday 190+ something... or rolling back too 178.24, if that evens runs with pcm09.
What Nvidia Drivers are you running on Meatyriding??
Then maybe theres as you said, other hardware related stuff. Or maybe even the OS. Im running a Vista64 SP2 (updated SPs after installing 09, so ServicePacks has nothing to do with it)
as mentioned, my setup is :
Vista Utlimate 64bit (SP2)
MSI's P7N SLI motherboard, based on Nvidia's nForce 750i SLI chipset
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz
2 x Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT (SLI)
8gb RAM DDR2 PC6400 |

Skiller:
1. Try deleting the files in Program Files/Cyanide/PCM/Videos
2. Try deleting your PCM-folder in My Documents. |

I had the same problem as Skiller and eventually figured out it was being caused by one of my saved games, a career as Cervelo Test Team, I had just finished the Tour of California and Volta ao Algarve last night, then got the black screen with cursor when I tried to load this morning. Anybody run into this? Any way to recover the saved game? |

If the save is corrupt then it cannot be fixed. You could try the automatic backup. It is in the same folder as the save and called like the save but ends with a ~. Just remove the ~ and then load it. |
