Ze_Duarte - Do you actually follow cycling as you seen a bit silly to me. How can farrar be doped he is on one of the most respected teams by anyone as they are one of the best teams combating doped. Look at why they didnt hire kohl!!! You are one of those people who point the finger all you have to look at is how old he is. How long he has been rzcing in the pro peleton in europe and also look at the starting fields he is against. Its not like he has never been near the front at a sprint is it!!!
Where did I say that Farrar is doped? I just say 'if he will be caught, I don't will stay surprised.

The spanish courts won't hand it over.
Valverde's was lucky to be handed over, because the judge that kept denying it was away.

He never planned to race the worlds did he? said he was too fatigued by his two earlier form peaks in Roubaix and Olympics...

yeah, but it's one race and he's got a professional team of trainers around him. if he wanted to he could have got himself into shape easily unless something was stopping him?
just saying because at the time there were some rumours about why he hadn't turned up. |

He said he was physically in shape, but psychologically exhausted, after the classics, the Tour and the Olympics.
Don't go there.
There's one single name that's been on my mind every time I think of the blood passport: Nocentini. |

If true, and I kinda hope it is, that is going to be massive for cycling. |

From Cyclingnews:
The International Cycling Union (UCI) indicated on Sunday that it will target a list of 50 riders who have shown abnormal results under the UCI's biological passport program. The UCI had revealed on Wednesday that it would be taking disciplinary action against a previously undisclosed number of riders.
At the final stage of the Dauphiné Libéré on Sunday UCI president Pat McQuaid said that the first of the targeted riders and their teams would be informed this week. McQuaid also expressed his own reservations about riders, named in the list, being included in their team's Tour de France squads.
"We [have] targeted research on a fifty riders," said McQuaid, according to L'Equipe. "Federations, teams and riders will gradually be informed in the coming days. I can not imagine that teams [will] bring riders covered on the list to the Tour de France."
The UCI's action against riders will be a firm test of the UCI's biological passport program. However, McQuaid indicated the UCI was confident that evidence provided by the program will hold up to examination.
"We worked with experts. We are ready to defend these results before the court." |

Well, as Astana are probably still planning on bringing Kloden and Caisse would love to bring Piti to the TdF, I don't somehow see all these teams suddenly saying "OK. It's a fair cop. You boys will have to stay at home" if we are dealing with big names....

I don't think that the teams mind about their riders being targetted. The teams knew about 'Men in Black'. Last year, UCI also announced that they had intensified testing on some riders, yet they were brought to the Tour, and some of them were later convicted guilty.
So yes, it's fine that they are targetting 50 riders, but it's naive to believe that these riders won't be brought to the Tour. |

Kloden and Valverde are just two riders - they seem to be taking the brunt of the 'boo the doper' for now. I am very interested to hear who the others are. If it is 50 riders its going to be difficult for teams to leave those riders at home in the tour.
I am disappointed (but understand) that it seems as if there is a likelihood that this will be driven underground with the statement saying we shall inform the teams and leave it up to them whether to race the riders.
Wasn't there a similar situation last year with Ricco identified before the race begun that he was dodgy. Similar the year before that with Rasmussen (okay different type of circumstance).
Should be interesting to watch coverage of the Tour de Suisse this week and see if any of the riders are wearing a shocked look! |
