Yeah but its coming out in september when the seasons 3/4 over so we have about a month to play with the drivers in the right team before changes happen in the off-season and the game becomes out-dated. Still the racing and graphics look great.
yeah, that was a stupid decision But i think they are aiming for the christmas rush, which might pay off for casual fans (like me)

Trackmania Nations Forever is definitly great fun. And it`s for free with online mode with unlimited different tracks because of an editor and million of players. Good rank system also.
Forza 3 on Xbox 360 is great, too but it always depends if you like that kind of racers. It`s similar to GRID, so it will be harder to race than arcade games like NFS. But the graphic is awesome, with a huge carpark and nice tracks.

You do realize GRID and Forza are very much arcade games, right?

Yes they are in relationship to GTR or a few other games, but not in relationship to NFS.
If you switch off TCS, ABS etc. it`s even more a simulation but switching that on is arcade. But in games like NFS it`s not even possible to set some simulation parts on. It`s 100% arcade, |

Whilst Forza is arcade, it's closer to simulation than Grid.

I really enjoyed Colin McRae: DiRT 2. Some may not like the flashback feature, but I think it's great, nothing sucks more than using 3 minutes on a race and then crashing in the last corner. But as you get better you hardly use it anymore.

Same in Forza 3. You don`t have to use it. If you want to play realistic you just don`t use it. like in online mode. But for the beginning it was better than crashing in every corner and 10min a lap. |

Correction: If you want to play realistic, you don't play Forza
(I have nothing against Forza, it's a lot of fun. Just don't confuse arcade with simulation. It's nowhere near realism)

You are right, but even the best simulation is not realistic. So I am pleased enough with Forza. Of course it`s not complete simulation but it`s not arcade neither. You can`t drive around corners with full speed like in other games, Trackmania, NFS ...
That`s arcade. Forza is a mix of both, but in my eyes more simulation than arcade. |

Depends on your definition of realism. 100% realistic? Nothing will ever be. 99.9%? I can name one. But it's not a game.

I'm more in to manager race games.. There are sooooo few.
RTL Grand Prix Manager was a fluke and a weak effort to copy the old Grand Prix Maanager and turn it into something new.
I was never a fan of GP World and GP Manager though.
F1 Manager Professional and F1 Manager 96 were such great games, made by Europress, a small German company. Seems they vanished after that.
A shame at that, those games are the best F1 manager games. And I can't get em running on my modern pc, not even in VMware or Dosbox |

GPRM shouldn't take too long before release (I beta tested it. It's better)

imo. On a console Forza is the closest to realistic you're going to get. But it's not close to a game like rFactor

Just got the game 2 days ago. I'm really liking it so far. I find it almost overwhelming how many races there are, and I like that the X Games are in it. I really like using the replay feature in this, NOT the flashback, but simply watching the replays. The angles are great and its cool seeing the way your wheels are pointed when drifting around a sharp turn. Only thing I wish the game had was more cars and upgrades towards the cars like in NFS Shift.
And sorry for bumping an old topic.
And I still can't wait for the F1:2010 game too. |

F1 2010 has a brilliant career mode, that alone is a good enough reason for me to buy it |

Anyone already bought F1 2010.
Saw it at the shops today, looked really good. |

bit annoyed it stops after 7 seasons, online play is excellent, and if people try to fk up the game usually by driving round the wrong way to hit the leads, they get kicked.
The best manager game i played was on the Spektrum back in the early 80s (showing my age) it was so basic but 1st of its kind, you had to manually do the pit stops. I was hooked to this, also the cycling game Milk Race.

I'll buy it eventually, but I simply don't have time for playing it right now. Looking very much forward to it, though |

Last Formula 1 game was Microprose Grand Prix 2, and a little bit 3.
This game from 1994 was absolutely brilliant.
There is still a big community around there with 2010 databases, all new graphical stuff and quite similar to the possibilities of PCM actually
This game was really realistic. Never had this experience in all more modern F1 games.
But still agree that F1 2010 will probably quite well |
