MTN Giro del Capo
Stage 3
A small group of riders got away today, and we decided not to care about them much. The break got a big gap, but we stayed cool and instead of us, Gobernacion del Zulia started to relay at the front of the pack.
But the break had still a pretty big gap at the end of the stage, Gazvoda started the stars attacks.
Kurt was feeling good and him and I decided that he could follow now.
Then Rujano attacked and I started to be a little nervous, we must do something soon.
And so we did, Andy told me to follow, and we tried to get away from the pack.
We caught Arvesens group with Laverde and others, but Rujano was dangerous alone almost in front now.
Just Lars Werenberg and the other breakaway riders was ahead Rujano. But he was closing the gap every second.
Andy asked me and Kurt if someone could join him in another attack, Kurt was to tired after the first one, but I said to Andy that I had the legs. Maybe I didn't have the legs, but I decided to support Andy with the very little I had left. Andy was my leader and I was here to help him, so what am I waiting for?
Luckily my legs weren't totally dead, me and Andy got a gap from Arvesens group and now the gap to Rujano wasn't big.
Rujano was in the lead now, we gave it all, I was so tired that every second felt like an hour. Pain, pain, pain. But I couldn't give up now!
Rujano took the win! Andy finished 2nd and..
I took the 3rd spot on the podium!

MTN Giro del Capo
Stage 4
A pretty relaxing day for me, I felt the yesterdays stage in the body so I was tired today.
Once again we tried a team attack in the last hill.
We got away easiely, Kurt and Andy just kept the high pace, but I was feeling the pain..
Andy took the win ahead of Kurt!
But I couldn't really hold Moncoutie behind.
I must beat Rujano with 10 seconds in tomorrows TT, hopefully I'm not so tired then.

MTN Giro del Capo
Stage 5
It's today I need to show my power in TTs, 10 seconds is all I need against Rujano, and I think that I can make it.
The riders in the beginning didn't cross the line with good times. Even Frank Höj was on the podium for a while.
It was finally time for Kurt and you can see me behind him at the start. Arvesen did ride good and finished 5th today, +12.
So it was time for me, I just rode as fast as I could, through the whole stage. It payed off and I took the lead !
Jose Rujano did a good ride, but he coulnd't match me and he crossed the line.... 11 seconds slower than me! Amazing!
Andy did a good TT and he finished 2nd today, +8.

Gustavs Diary - 2nd of March
Finally home again. The week in South Africa has been wonderful, but it's nice to come home again. I think that I can describe myself in one word right now, PAIN! But now I have to look forward to Tirreno Adriatico where I probably will support Fabian Cancellara. It's going to be really fun in Italy and I think that we can finish high up in the GC.

Hello there, it's Andy Schleck here! Gustav is riding in Italy right now and he asked me if I wanted to write a little about Paris Nice. I said yes, and here I am. This years race started with a short prologue, and André Steensen sat the best SaxoBank time today, and as expected I lost many useful seconds. 26 to be exact.
The GC standings was the same when the first real mountain stage started. I was really excited before the stage and I really wanted the win. The attacks started at the last climb and my legs were feeling great!
Attack by Andy Schleck!
My attack wasn't enough to go solo, but I was in the front group and I prepared myself for another attack. With a few km to go I tried and I just gave it all I had..
This resulted into a solo ride and I took the win pretty easy!
A great win, and the GC lead!
Next stage finished up Mount Ventoux and I just kept my fast pace from yesterday. Todays stage was almost like the one on the day before, an attack on the last mountain. I joined the front, then again another attack and I crossed the line as the winner.
A win again!
The rest of the stages were pretty calm. We controlled the pack and I won Paris Nice! Awesome, next time you hear from me is probably from Tour de France.

Tirreno Adriatico
Stage 1
Team: G.Larsson, F.Schleck, A.Rasmussen, F.Höj, J.McCartney, J.Bellis and F.Cancellara.
Finally it's here, my first real race this year and I'm excited! Tirreno Adriatico is a big race and a race that fits me pretty well. But I won't be the team leader here, instead we have Fabian Cancellara for the overall ranking. This years route is pretty hilly and it also got a time trial, and I hope that I can finish on the podiums there. Fränk is here for preparation beofore the Ardennes, so don't expect anything from him.
As usual there was a break.
They got caught and with 53 km to go, it started to happen things in the pack, but it was not the fun type of action. A big crash! Hincapie was one of the crashers!
At the same time Milrams leader, Linus Gerdemann crashed!
A few other riders did also crash but they weren't worth mentioning. But after a few kms it happened again. This time Contador was one of the crashers!
Same story for Silence TdF man, Cadel Evans!
Unfortunately also Van Goolen crashed..
Lucky that I didn't crash!
The crashers created an own group behind the pack and the question was if they could come back, the answer was NO. So to the sprint, many sprinters were tired and there wasn't a single sprinttrain. Cancellara was there.
Petacchi took an early lead and Fabian followed him, it looked good. I really wanted Cancellara to win, it would be a really nice start to Tirreno Adriatico!
Fabian opened up and now it was between him and Petacchi.
It was really close at the line and we didn't know who was the winner until a few minutes after the race was over.
I crossed the line safely in the pack and I was just happy that I didn't crash today.
After a few minutes the riders who crahsed crossed the line. A large group.
But who won? It was nervous to wait for the result but when we knew the winner, it was an amazin feeling! We had won it, awesome! I hugged Fabian and congratulated him.

Tirreno Adriatico
Stage 2
A pretty hilly stage today. My legs are feeling pretty good and today I think I will have to work as a team mate, because of our lack of other team mates who can make it over the hills.
A group of riders attacked in the beginning and created todays break. But we decided to don't work in front even if we had the Blue (yellow) jersey. The breakaway riders were no threat for the overall rankings.
As I mentioned before, today I really worked as a team mate, it was just me, Fabian and Fränk left in the pack so I had to bring the water to them.
On the last hill the stars started to attack, we responded. Even if we knew that we couldn't catch the front.
I just didn't have the legs today, my attack was pretty embarrasing and I just got caught by the pack fast. So did Fränk, but Fabian was still out there.
But the attacks didn't help, Inigo Landaluze won todays stage and tomorrow, Lloyd Mondory will wear the Blue jersey!
Cancellara was the first "real" rider to cross the line and he gained some seconds on me in the pack.
A pretty hard day for me I have to say, maybe I used to much energy in that attack.

Tirreno Adriatico
Stage 3
I'm out of the GC, but that does not mean that this race is over for me! It's great to work for Fabian who is such a good rider and when he at the same time manage to score great results, it's just fantastic.
A pretty tough stage today who is finishing off with a sharp hill at the end. Of course Fabian is our man for this.
A hugh breakaway group today.
But they got caught easy. Levi Leipheimer started the action with an attack with 40 km left of the stage.
He got caught by the pack, and after some KOM sprints, Filippo Pozzato just rode away from the pack.
Basso was afraid of Pozzato and attacked, Fabian countered!
Basso, Fabian and the other attackers created a chasing group behind Pipo. But on the downhill Cancellara attacked again!
He caught Pozzato!
And with less than 10 km to go, he attacked again! Fabian was just to good
today! Unbelievable.
Cancellara got a big gap before the sprint, it was looking good!
But Cunego is coming fast from behind, shall he destroy todays wonderful stage for us?
NOOO! A beatiful win from Fabian Cancellara! When I heard that he had won I just raised my hands in the sky and smiled, awesome for us.
I finished the race and crossed the line safely in the pack.
When your leader wins a race it feels almost as good as you win the race yourself. I'm proud of myself, I've helped Fabian to this success!
Cancellara is back at the top of the GC!
