Enjoyed it as always Only thing I can complain about is the lack of TdF news. At my hotel, I had a lot of Turkish tv-channels, a French one, a Dutch one and BBC World. I thought, "Fine, that will do", but I was so wrong. The Dutch one is one of the weirdest tv-channels I have ever seen. All they had was some weird "reality" shows. The French one showed series all the times, and no, don't get me started on BBC World. I mean, they claim to be an international channel, yet all they report about is cricket, Gordon Brown and how Chelsea did against some small, sucky team in a practice match! One day, when Vino tested positive, they did actually mention Tour de France - but only the doping accident. Nothing about the results or the general classification.
Luckily, Alanya is full of Scandinavian people which also forces restaurants to have (and show) Scandinavian channels. I watched some highlights from the MT-stage Michael won, and I was unbelieveably happy. Next morning, I checked BBC who then reported that Michael had been thrown out (again, not mentioning anything about his stage win the day before) -- so I hate BBC now, no doubt about that
It's really bad weather here in Denmark, so I already miss Turkey. It's so cold here |

BVN, I think it was called. Not sure. The day before I left I found out that they had a news show called "Nos Journaal" (our news). |

probably just to annoy you:
there's a palm tree outside my house. can you guess the weather here? no? I'd better turn the fan to a higher setting
and I agree. dutch TV is simply weird.
last time I was in holland there was a channel that played some reality show about fashion and runway models all the time seriously...a reality show is bad enough, but one with models and clothes designers? I felt like throwing the TV out the window |

lol that would be BBN, which is broadcasted on one of the 3 National Channels, like BBC Nos Journal is the main newschannel in Holland
EDIT: idd, dutch channels suck, only soccer and the Comedy Central are good channels (and well comedy central only broadcasts American and British things)

I don't get it. If that's what Dutch people want to see while being abroad, Dutch people must be pretty stupid
Anyway, for those wondering:
The DL-section will be fully updated tomorrow. Today is my "updating myself"-day, trying to get an overview of what has happened during the past week (no, not PCM-related .. more general news, politics, etc.), tomorrow I'll take on the workload |

let's see....Poland made a couple more insane proposals to the whole of the EU, both of them made to piss off the germans...as usual. both rejected. as usual.
he Vatican is about to release an animated film of the life of Pope John Paul II. yup. animated.
Freddy Adu signed for a crappy god forsaken european club
China has vowed to cut down on "Engrish" (meaning poorly translated english)
the nobel prizes were awarded. all based on political reasons instead of who's actually worthy. as usual.
Smoothie started a story that's seen the highest buzz for a story around here since....well...since I can remember.
pretty much business as usual...

BBC World is great - a little bit of Britain you can always rely on when abroad
More news - In Britain, we've got flooding, which somehow the Tories have blamed on the Labour government, England are getting absolutely trounced at cricket (OK, so no change there ), David Cameron's plummeted in the opinion polls as everyone realises he doesn't actually have a single policy (oh, and the fact his interview was done by Channel 5). Not much else, apart from that.
And on a much more serious note, I'm absolutely sickened by this story: due to the smoking bans now in place, a former boxer asked two people to stop smoking indoors. So they shot him. He was declared brain dead a couple of days ago, and died yesterday. I'm absolutely sickened by this act, how can someone shoot a guy for this. It's horrifying, and I hope the guys who did this suffer for this

hopefully they will both die soon from lung cancer. morbid? maybe. but smokers sicken me. something to do with both my parents smoking perhaps.
it's absolutely insane how someone can react like that. those people should be imprisioned for life. |

BBC World is great for British people, yes, but it's supposed to be international, in the sense that they deliver international news relevant to all people. Fact is, though, that most of the news only are relevant to British people |
