Stage 3
Has Cancellara got yellow yesterday. This was first hugh sign that main favorites starting to move forward just before key stage wich will be stage 5. But before that another sprinters chanche.
Where we share any mountain (more like hill points) there is Kjell. At least some colors to Liquigas pack.
Sprint..Fischer is way to far at the group when sprint starts..but he's trying to keep up with tour leader Cancellara. On left side there is Chicchi ..who is hunting he's best result.
Pipo has solid lead ..there is also Stuart ,Förster and Hushovd. Fischer finds open side..all out now!
Pipo takes it..also we have new tour leader. Nice sprint..all favorites in there.Fischer 5th. nice one after that bad positioning.

Stage 4
Last chanche for spinters to take leader jersey before 5th. stage.
And here we go..has Chicchi has shown ..he is with perfect morale to the day. Fischer who has been hunting stage win 3 times..want to give Chicchi oportunity to go. He is lead out man..and what a great job he does. Right after Förster. Renshaw with point jersey at the right side.
And here they go..all out. Fischer managed to take lead..but wow Chicchi has problems to follow. He is a little boxed..but main reason is ..he is still clearly out of shape at the moment. Pipo getting closer.
Few m. before the line..3 riders in the same line. Pipo , Stuart and Fischer.
and line..no one dont celebrate..this was close. We have to wait a little final results.
And this is unlucky for Liquigas ..photofinish..1. Pippo 2. O'Grady 3. Fischer...damn!

Marcus Burghard was into today breakaway group..soon he decided that speed isnt enough to win the stage he go's for solo. This is serious..50km. to go.
Chavanel is off..h desiced do go before small but sharp hill. Peloton wont sleep that moment..Katjusha track him fast down.
Gutierrez is first who atacks ..just right then when climb starts. Burghardt still at the front..he has actualy chanche to keep it this way. Kjell dont make today any breakaway atempt he's work today is protect Fischer has long has possible.
Then Paulinho and Pozzato atack..Fischer actualy looking quite good at this moment..Protecter man Kjell looks like he's gonna crack soon.
On the hill top..there is Pozzato and Gerrans.. Burghardt takes hill top first , but soon this will be over. But they all come back together.
Barredo atack.after Hincapie ..Fischer but everything out to follow them. Damn its hard.
But this isnt success all the way for Fischer.. Pozzato atacks again..amazing man. No success for him eather..several atacks follow.
Anyway result of tha nervous situation is that on downhill 4 riders get away. Hincapie, Paulinho, Gutierrez and Brandt.
Then go's Maaskant and Pozzato..Fischer looks exausted but this is it..Have to try follow...and they cach 4 riders at the front.
Last km. 20 rider group has separeted..Hincapie looks good he open the sprint and get same moment solid lead.
And Hincapie also takes it..Liquigas should be pleased..they survived.

Last one..City tour. Go Fischer.
Ups..on early stage of the race on of the todays favorite local boy Brown is down. But no problem peloton hasnt moving fast yet..he will get back to the group.
Hugh breakaway group is formed. Liquigas send rookie rider Da Ros just in case up there. But peloton is a wake they dont let 25 rider group get away.
After that Slipstream and Tuft..this is serious one. He can drive solo very fast..such a good TT rider. Katjusha will eat that lead fast.
Time to sprint..Fischer has perfect position follows Boom and hey Brown is back at the front. Cervelo prepearing something to Hushovd at the right.
Dean is first one..he just cant wait anymore. Fischer who had perfect position ..change fast position..there is also at the front Goss, Cancellara, Rast , Clerc..Rabo duo.
Cancellara takes the lead..Dean is fading
And Cancellara it is..again. Fischer managed to get second..best result. Pipo did fastest end but probably started to much behind.
If I looked GC after stage ex team star take 1st spot..then 3rd. Fischer is more then enough of what I was expecting. Good open for the season. After all this was Pro race..
Surprise was that sponsors liked also Kjell Carlström "hill" jersey.
After Fischer there is hugh hole..other riders are way to far at the top.

Stage 1
Prologue
Short one..I have always problems to run short TTT. Going flat out today..another bad sign for me today is that I have probebly weakest TTT on the start list. I'm here to win sprint stages. Strange that other teams have different policy in Qatar.
Lets open with another green jersey team : Sean Kelly team..8th. place +35 sec. in team clasification. Not bad start at all for irish team.
Française des Jeux..3rd. time +17sec.. Casar is the captain (ok sprinter ..but strange choice)
Silence Lotto 4th. +28 sec...
My turn..terrible ..I will be last team after the prologue +1'11 down. Chicchi has lot work to do..If he likes to be near of the top when tour ends.
Rabo..2nd. +16sec.
Highroad..fastest team today. No magic..If you look theyr picture..there is several special TT jerseys. Like world champion Bert Grabsch,Italian national TT champ Pinotti and several other fine TT riders. Looking my team terrible position..I dont know who is here with better tactics.

Stage 2
Al Zubarah - Doha Golf Club
Qatar is pure sprinters paradise..but today we have something terrible sidewind..(dont gonna tell how much you gonna laugh..) on Qatar that will be real nightmare sand storm. But here we go.
..and this is what gonna happens. Chicchi has leader should be realy careful to not get to far at the peak..because any moment wind will break peloton. There is hugh trouble to get water bottles at team car..because there is risk that If you send rider back..he might wont be able to get back to top. Chicchi working hard to keep himself at the top.
Another split..Chicchi need to go fast has possible to get back on that group. Finaly 30 riders group get away..Chicchi is one of them.
Just before another split..two riders just sliping away. Chicchi need to do hard work himself because fellow team mates at the first group Corioni and Da Ros are to exausted.
Sprint..Alejandro Borrajo has a hugh lead. Chicchi passes Fuji - Servetto riders. He dont have any legs left.
Barrojo takes stage win..Chicchi second..still no stage win to Liquigas.
But something has Chicchi started a day in 160th. then after race 28th. Easy sprint stage turned into hard stage.

Stage 3
Camel Race Track - Qatar Foundation
I dont hide Liquigas ambition. They realy want to stage win today. And Chicchi should be best sprinter in that startlist.
Another windy day..when all Team Halfords comes to front..peloton has again trouble to keep together. Chicchi need to be ready.
And they did it again..all eight team Halfords rider (Robert Hales has team captain)..Chicchi and he's protecter Oss get in..another hard day a head. Bert Grabsch as tour leader didint waste also this oportunity.
15km. to go..and one Halfords rider Tennant going for solo..great tactical move.
There is only one solution for Liquigas..butting Oss to front..Oss has working hard all day..This aint gonna last enough. He looks wasted already.
Sprint..Chicchi had nothing to do..just needed to open the game and go after Tennant. And ofcorse Hayles and tour leader Bert Grabsch will follow.
and here go's Liquigas chanches to take a stage win. Hayles passes him easy..another seond place. But I have to aplause for Team Halfords tactics..specialy has they played final 15km..well done.
One bad news..If I look final protocal then ploton had fast final part Chicchi did not win any time.
At least point jersey for tomorrow

Stage 4
Khalifa Stadium - Al Khor Corniche
Anoher chanche..to open win acount for the season.
This is first time in Qatar when we have mass sprint..all group together.."work horse" Oss is lead out man for Chicchi
..and here he go's. Looks good..stage 2 winner Alejandro Borrajo still leading..but Chicchi closing very fast.
..and he got it. Finaly..first stage win. But todays sprint shows that Chicchi wont be dominator for this tour..perfect timing and exelent lead out was behind he's success today.

Stage 5
Al Khor Academy - Al Khor Corniche
We got a win..now we are after highest GC place has possible..but that means even more wins.
After taking a stage win..there is time to try some new thing..Liquigas buiding a sprint train.
Damn has I busy to control right side at the group..Barrojo is makes smart move he atack's at the left side. When Chicchi notice that rythm change h is already to much behind.
Damn Chicchi is fast..but there isnt enough road to pass first 3.
Barrojo takes stage win nr. 2...Chicchi has just to blame bad build up for sprint.
Barrojo takes a leader jersey and also point table lead. Perfect day for him.

Stage 6
Al Wakra - Doha Corniche
Last stage to run..Yesterday missed sprint spoiled chanches to get into podium on last stage.
This is almost like rule in Qatar...peloton is in difficulty to keep together..because hard sidewind
But today all will end with mass sprint.. Oss has done great job today he managed to drag Chicchi into perfect position.
And here we go..Chicchi has today problem to pass even leadout man Oss today. Very weak perfomance..he was just after Rabo rider Leezer..but didnt use he's good position.
Leezer takes clear win.. 2nd. Christoff Van Heerden..3rd. Reynes.
Later I noticed that last stage fast last 15km. and sprint has given for Chicchi undeserved present..so far race top guys loose over minut into last 15km. and 50 riders get time advantage.
Belived or not..Chicchi get thank for that GC 3rd place..lucky bastard.and da Ros get also into top 10. Today I feel extremly lucky.
