Tour Down Under Stage 1
This stage contains a few hills, and will be a real difficulty for Förster.
Knaven is in the breackaway, he got 2 mountain points and is leader together with 2 more riders.
Then Quick-Step sets up the pace, and Förster doesn't like it.
He is totaly dead, top 20 is realy the maximum for him today...
In the front it are Gerrans and Fischer who are fighting for the victory, Columbia was a bit to late with their train and so was Quick Step.
Samba! Fischer takes the stage! Förster is only 19th, and even his team mate Knees got past him in the final meter, he is 18th....

Försters form isn't very good, and there was a quite high pace at the hills. Fischer won because he has the best hill stat |

Tour Down Under Stage 2
A hilly stage, which suits Rohregger and Knees
Knaven is in front on the first climb, but he can't get any points

Förster can't keep up anymore
Knees and Rohregger are still in front in the final lap
On the downhill section Knees attacks!
But his attempt didn't last for long, but on the final climb Rohregger attacks!
But in the sprint he was caught by the pack, Pozzato wins

Tour Down Under Stage 3
Another hilly stage, another chance for Knees or Rohregger, and even Förster and Wrölich.
Today was a quite peacefull day in the pelloton, but on the final hill there are a lot of attacks. Even from... Tom Boonen! he is the strongest. Rohregger counters...
But he can't reach him! It looks like Boonen will take it.
But Boonen Cracks! And then Knees attacks! He is with Boonen in no time!
There is nothing left of our poor Boonen, Knees is crushing him!
In the pack, Wrölich still has a very good position
But this is our first win!!! Knees stays away! What a victory!
Results:
1 Christian Knees Team Milram 3h14'51
2 Tom Boonen Quick·Step s.t.
3 Filippo Pozzato Team Katusha s.t.
4 Murilo Fischer Liquigas s.t.

6 Assan Bazayev Astana Cycling Team s.t.
7 Mikhail Ignatiev Team Katusha s.t.
8 Julian Dean Garmin - Slipstream s.t.
9 José Iván Gutiérrez Caisse d'Epargne s.t.
10 Francesco Gavazzi Lampre - N.G.C s.t.
Overall:
1 Murilo Fischer Liquigas 10h35'31
2 Samuel Dumoulin Cofidis, le crédit en ligne + 1
3 Bernhard Eisel Team Columbia - High Road + 2
4 Gorik Gardeyn Silence - Lotto s.t.

If Knees (or Rohregger) wins stage 5 yes, Knees is 6 seconds behind so nothing is decided yet. |
