Nothing like your TTer grabbing good KOM points to hopefully score in the final standings. We're still here for day 5 and hoping to just pick up a few more along the way.
Oka getting a few good sprints in is still making me happy too!

2nd. Bennett is always there but can't seem to get that win. If he was there It may have helped keep a high GC placing after the TTT. Still happy with a 2nd place and 2nd GC at the moment. Especially being in a C1 and our home race. ELCO was too strong for us through in terms of support.
Congrats to ELCO on the victory and thanks for that report. Fingers crossed we have a decent TTT and we can keep a high GC place with Bennett.

Thanks a lot mate!
That was every bit as dominant as I had dreamt of before the race. Absolutely perfect.
Even if Giannoutsos is dropped from the TTT He should have enough margin for the win. The others should keep their positions, maybe even climb a spot or two here and there.
If We Can take the TTT win also it has been a perfect race playing out exactly like I had it looking like in my head when planning the season :-)

This Vineyard climb is always the one I hope to see Bennett winning in his home country.
Same this time, but in the end fair play to ELCO. Best team wins well deserved. Was impressive to see the list of isolated leaders and ELCO still with 4 riders in.
Congrats on that! |

Thanks as always Ulrich.
I actually think Main was right to try the break there. He wasn't going to cut it with the leader anyway so worth a punt!
All eyes on the TT to avoid a zero pointer!

Wow that was dominant! Didn't think we'd see a scenario where a team could still have four guys in a group of so many other favorites. Maybe those Greek talents are just too strong...
Still happy to see Cardona looking to receive KOM points but not sure why Nyoni needed to find the break. They should be saving their legs for the final stage. A great top 3 in the TT is necessary and would love Oka to find just a few more points here in the sprint classification.
A very fun race so far indeed!

Those Creek talents are all heavily trainee though ;-) Every single one of those in the front groups :-)

Congrats to SotD, the GC win looks pretty much sealed now. Ranaweera would have needed a better stage though to stay in the podium fight, so it's about reducing losses in the TTT now.

S2: Zabel's leadout missing in action, 8th not good enough for a 3 star favourite
S3: Evans hanging on for 10th with another 2 in the top 20 is not a bad result.
Congrats to SotD and thanks to UU for the reports.

Nice to see that the transportation stage didn't do anything bad to the GC for anyone.
Can't wait for the TTT to see what happens. I have big dreams, but the length could make it a bit chaotic.

Too bad that we didn't send a decent enough TTT squad, but I guess a Stage win + Points win + decent KoM result may be the best we can get.
Thanks for the report

Some aggression shown, some points gained, not a totally useless trip to the C1 sphere!

S4: Not catching the break was bad news, Zabel's rubbish season continues.
S5: Decent TTT performance nets 10th, 16th & 17th in GC. Not too bad but doubt it is enough to keep us up.
Thanks for the great reports UU and congrats to SotD for a dominant performance.

Not fighting better for Mavrikakis here was bad, He lost the wheel and 5 seconds. He needed 2 to take 4th in the GC. He was basically the Only rider they had to focus on as everyone else was with readonable-sized gaps.
Can’t sat that I am not dissapointed by “only” 2nd here when we were clearly the best team, but the race as a whole was absolutely brilliant, picking up a lot of the lost points from recent blunders.

Oh what a win! We haven't had one in a while and we're so proud of our squad here! Sad that we couldn't bring Fisher-Black to compete at home, but we had to put almost everything into this TTT.
Our hearts are full
