Hi. I have converted the CDB file to XML and edited the file DYN_secondary sponsors to include new sponsor names. How do I repack it into the CDB file ? Regards Jaywol.

Leaving the table scroll down box empty. Got it, thanks regards Jaywol.

Now all data has returned to original ??? Am I missing a stage in the overall process ?

Your DB is placed in Full Editor/Database. Remember to move it to My Documents/PCM/Database and select it in-game.

Nope, all data lost. Never mind, only took me a day to edit Sad Will start again from scratch. So, just to be clear: Edit from CDB to XML. Select DYN_secondary sponsors and edit data. Save then Export ?

Your data can't just be lost. Are you sure you're actually using your edited DB in-game?

Noestdahl92: What do you want to edit? Wink

I think i know what you are doing wrong. When you finish editing and save .xml file here is what you do:

1. Restart FullEditor.

2. Load some table from the folder where you have imported cdb. It doesn't even have to be the table you edited. But you have to load something.

3. Now export. You don't save anything at this point - just export.

btw - the data you edited is probably not lost. Take a look at xml. file you edited... it should all be there.

Jaywol
When I first exported from the edited XML file, I deleted my saved game file and renamed the newly exported one identically. However when I load the saved game all secondary sponsors remain the same ? I do have the edited date on my laptop and so should be able to recover it.
What I'm trying to do is add bits from various db's to my save game and also learn how to edit the game in the process. Mainly visual things like adding new teams, equipment etc and adding various visual tweaks.

I want to edit my databaseWink I just don't know what to do?!..

Wouldn't it be better for a new guy like you to use a more simple tool, to begin with, e.g. CLE-ditor?

to Jaywol... if you edit only in FullEditor then ignore my earlier post. Wink

what I wrote earlier is in case you use FullEditor only to break .cdb file into many .xml files and then use some other .xml editor (like Excel).

sorry for confusion

Now - Could you please write step by step what you are doing. You are missing a stage I just can't figure exatly which one.

Smile

That's fine with meWink

Ok. I am using a saved game from the original db which is start of season 2010. I am trying to replace the original secondary sponsors with those from the PCM Daily 2009 db.
I placed my save game files in the db folder of the Full Editor and then convert it from CDB to XML. This allows me to open all the files within the editor using the drop down box. I select DYN_secondary sponsors and replace the original data. I then save and then export back to CDB.
This creates a new CDB file in the db folder. I delete the old CDB file and replace it with the new one, named identically and presumably containing the revised data. I then place them in the saved game folder in my docs. But when I open the game the secondary sponsors are unchanged.
The main aim is to improve the saved game db, without losing the saved game data. This way I can make amendments in my own pace whilst still playing the game.
Don't know if this helps, regards Jaywol.

You are doing everything just right.

Try to open that modified save game in FullEditor. Then look at the DYN_secondary_sponsor - are the changes you've made still visible?

Also try giving your save game a different name... it could be a problem with cache. Not sure.

... I can't think of anything else. Sad

Otherwise, try uploading your save game.
