Haven't you ever heard the old guy who comments on british eurosport?

I'm talking about the main commentator who keeps talking about how old he is and how he's sorry that being old makes him rable instead of commentating..... Sean Kelly is the "aid" with the impossible to understand irish accent. |

Wim Stroetinga 2nd!
That's amazing. He comes from the track and rides for Milram now, and immediately gets 2nd in a mass sprint behind McEwen but in front of Brown etc.
I wonder how he will do in Down Under.
Yeah, he was the surprise, first pro race and I thought he was just a pursuiter (good TT on road) but he can sprint. |

Stroetinga is not a pursuiter, well, he did pursuits, but his best part was Scratch, which is basically the same as a road race (first to finish wins... simple as that)
He was always the best sprinter in the scratch race, but never world champion because two times an escaper stayed ahead (Lisouski the last time).
Stroetinga is definately fast and a sprinter on the road. Btw, Brown is a pursuiter on track too and a sprinter on road, so that combination is pretty normal. |

This is weird. Danish tv is showing highlights from the race, c. 20 minutes. Why? Because Armstrong is there.
It's crazy. It's a national event... |

McEwen doesn't have the speed or the acceleration that he once had.
The sprint wasn't a high speed one. It started at a very low speed. So who wins in those conditions? Not the fastest and best positioned guy, but the only one who can reach a decent speed from those circumstances: The guy with the best acceleration.
It's the story of McEwen's career: In a controlled high speed sprint he has no chance, as he has never had the sprinting speed of the greats, but if no team takes the peloton by the scruff of the neck delivering it to the sprint at high speed, he's deadly |

Other than that, people are exagerrating the importance of the sprint. "McEwen is back", "I thought McEwen was dead", "You never put an old dog down". Guys, this is "Cancer Council Classic", a National Event race. It's not Tour de France. |

You're talking about David 'Duffers' Duffield. I honestly don't know how that man qualifies as a 'commentator', but I do know that the mute button has never been so appreciated by so many |
