Welcome to the Team - Part 2
A number of riders have already come to new terms with the SEE Turtles this off season. We've got a few more veterans joining the team to announce before our final post with our incoming talents!
Jimmy Muhindo - 50k
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Jimmy Muhindo | 74 | 58 | 67 | 65 | 74 | 71 | 68 | 75 | 68 | 64 | 76 | 65 | 65 | 28 |
Muhindo arrives from Spark Team NZ to as the team realized cobbles may not be so bad after all (truly TBD) . He looks to be a final support man for Orue and our next announcement and should be able to gain some depth points throughout. Probably not going to be the star of the team, but he's excited to join the SEE Turtles. His arrival also facilitated the departure of Antoine Duchesne.
Chequan Richardson - 50k
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Chequan Richardson | 71 | 61 | 67 | 63 | 68 | 68 | 64 | 78 | 60 | 61 | 75 | 66 | 63 | 31 |
Richardson also joins to headline our cobble squad. While he doesn't excel in the energy stats, Richardson has shown his ability to gain top 10s while at Podium Ambition and should contribute strongly. Doesn't have to be a winner to be a great contributor here as the SEE Turtles hope to attend their first ever cobble races. Most importantly, Richardson's presence will help provide Orue a bit more freedom.

So many quality low wage signings! Promotion via depth is a strong strategy, and the team has enough options to spring big result surprises too.

Like to see Keough back in the CT for one more run. Your TT core looks really scary. And some great young guys still to be announced.

Adding a bunch of solid TTers is never a bad idea in any division. Can't help but feel you are lacking that one big boy that would push your team over the edge.

A couple flow nice additons for the cobbles should help with the points on that terrain!

You seem to be well equipped as long as the road has no bumps
But seriously you're building for some more results like in last year's Olympia's Tour (if I recall correctly), though you'll surely opt to allow more than 8 riders to TT heavy races.

You have signed a great regional talent in Revelo and signed some very nice TT'ists and cobblers for some nice points hopefully. I also hope Keough has one last nice season in his legs for you.

More investment in time-trials is not a surprise. I'm not convinced by the cobblers, but on those low wage they could be good value.
Keough should still be very good in CT

Some good additions with Cardona and Nyoni to an already stacked TT department. Orue will also do well in the cobbles. I'm just not convinced about Richardson with these energy stats, but he can always surprise me
Good luck!

Welcome to the Team - Part 3
Here we present our final 5 riders for the 2024 season - including a loan-in, our CT draft, and our two new major talents.
Robert Bush - CT Draft
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Robert Bush | 71 | 60 | 60 | 59 | 70 | 68 | 66 | 75 | 68 | 68 | 63 | 71 | 59 | 34 |
Bush arrives to the SEE Turtles as a supporting rider for the cobbles through the CT draft. Bush will step in to help create some deeper lineups and be a road captain. We don't expect him to do much more than cobble, but he should be able to provide good support for a year with what he needs.
Leandro Marcos - CT Draft
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Leandro Marcos | 73 | 61 | 72 | 62 | 69 | 63 | 67 | 73 | 64 | 68 | 72 | 63 | 64 | 33 |
Marcos joins the SEE Turtles through the draft as well. Marcos will similarly support primarily in the cobble races, but should also attempt to support in some of our flat classics. A breakaway or two, some good domestique work, and maybe even a few points along the way would be more than enough success.
Finn Fisher-Black - 43k Loan-in
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Finn Fisher-Black | 64 | 63 | 64 | 64 | 66 | 71 | 63 | 60 | 60 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 74 | 23 |
Finn Fisher-Black joins the SEE Turtles for 1 year on loan from Oxxo - Frisby. In addition to some fantastic prologue support and growth, Fisher-Black has requested education on ocean conservation and should rejoin Oxxo-Frisby next year with good knowledge and lots of training.
Franklin Joel Revelo- 55k
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Franklin Joel Revelo | 68 | 68 | 69 | 57 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 58 | 60 | 64 | 65 | 69 | 62 | 22 |
Franklin Joel Revelo joins as the first talent to sign with us this year. He joins his home team with a number of other Ecuadorian talents developing alongside. At this max, Revelo should be 77/77 Mountain/Hill with the current gains system. Revelo will see a myriad of races this season and test out a variety of terrains. He should be best in the mountains and will be trying to find some early breakaways throughout the season.
Magnus Sheffield- 100k
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Magnus Sheffield | 69 | 64 | 67 | 70 | 66 | 71 | 69 | 71 | 65 | 68 | 72 | 72 | 68 | 22 | | | | | | | | |
Sheffield joins the team after a very competitive bidding process and now becomes the highest paid rider in SEE Turtles history. Sheffield will participate as part of our top TTT team, and be joining the cobble squad this season as he develops. Sheffield has more than a few different pathways forward through his training, but the cobbles look like they might be his future where he can top out at 78. Clearly a powerhouse, Sheffield is ready to take the MGUCI by storm throughout the years. Our sponsors are very excited to welcome him to the team.

If there was one rider i didn't want to see drafted, it was Marcos. But i guess i can still be a fan of the Turtles. Revelo & Sheffield two nice talent pick-ups!

Thanks for taking care of FFB this season I expect a lot of wisdom when he comes back!
Revelo and Sheffield indeed two very nice talents, and definitely Revelo really had to come home this transfer season

Congrats on Revelo and Sheffield, a really nice pair of talents and good prices. I hope they too will be participating in the ocean conservation education.

So much depth when it comes to cobbles and TT! Especially Cobbles your depth is insane when you look at CT. Though i still believe (or wish?! ) that the pure skill in my team will succeed.
TT looks (again) great too and you surely will score there. BUT what you wanna do at the prologues?! Looks like you could take most of top 10 in C2 races easily.
I will follow closely what your team can reach this year, not just because we compete, but also because it seems so atypical compared to the rest that we can learn a lot from it!

Presenting the final roster all together! Big changes from last year in strategy, but we'll see how it goes!

Cobbles, TTs and sprints. Interesting setup for sure.
I didn't realise you got Sheffield at such a cheap price. Great signing

CT Team Standings | Top 5 | C2 Uppsala Classic | Win | | C2 Monterrey TTT | Top 5 | C2 Olympia's Tour | Top 5 | C1 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo | Top 5 |
After last year's goal selections where we assumed hilly one-day races would fit our style, we've attempted to learn a bit. First, we head back to our biggest success, the Olympia's Tour for a Top 5 this year. We think we've found the successful formula for that race, although a few new competitors might challenge us. Again, we looked for a semi-lock success in Monterrey where it should be tough for enough teams to challenge us to a Top 5, but a win is not guaranteed. La Tropicale Amissa Bongo holds the same idea, where Faycal Hamza would've succeeded last year, but punctured. The race now has 2 prologues which should allow our strong group of prologue riders a chance.
Our biggest gambles are a Team Standings Top 5 and our win goal at Uppsala Classic. Our win goal is based on a hope that one of our many prologue specialists can find enough time to escape the field. Keough will be our best hope given that he should also be contesting the sprints throughout the week. Our Team Standings goal hopes to see a much more coherent race day selection and attempt to load up on cobble races - where most of the division avoids - see up nickel and dime points where we previously 0'ed or were barely useful at many stage races.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Harold Martin Lopez | 63 | 71 | 68 | 66 | 67 | 69 | 67 | 58 | 62 | 64 | 60 | 62 | 64 | 24 | | Joshua Kelly | 73 | 66 | 72 | 74 | 69 | 73 | 60 | 60 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 62 | 76 | 28 | | Alex Frame | 71 | 50 | 62 | 69 | 69 | 74 | 72 | 62 | 77 | 76 | 52 | 68 | 79 | 31 | | Atsushi Oka | 73 | 65 | 67 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 64 | 76 | 76 | 67 | 64 | 79 | 29 | | Franklin Joel Revelo | 68 | 68 | 69 | 57 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 58 | 60 | 64 | 65 | 69 | 62 | 22 | | Luke Keough | 72 | 59 | 61 | 57 | 65 | 71 | 71 | 58 | 78 | 77 | 62 | 74 | 79 | 33 | | Finn Fisher-Black | 64 | 63 | 64 | 64 | 66 | 71 | 63 | 60 | 60 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 74 | 23 | | Faycal Hamza | 74 | 52 | 63 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 50 | 56 | 68 | 69 | 63 | 79 | 32 |
Keough really should be one of the GC favorites here and it's the major reason we targeted him this off-season. The investment should allow him to pay us forward with income for next year as Keough is still a strong sprinter for a 4 day race and should be prepared to crush a final prologue. Oka and Frame are ready to handle the case should either Keough struggle on a stage and Hamza will also be focusing on the final prologue. We just hope that Keough can get enough bonus seconds throughout the week to remain in contention. We'll put our likelihood at a victory here at 15%.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Kashyapa Siriwardena | 67 | 74 | 73 | 72 | 71 | 73 | 72 | 56 | 58 | 68 | 74 | 65 | 72 | 32 | | Joshua Kelly | 73 | 66 | 72 | 74 | 69 | 73 | 60 | 60 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 62 | 76 | 28 | | Ahmad Arissol | 73 | 65 | 70 | 71 | 68 | 71 | 69 | 71 | 61 | 66 | 75 | 69 | 70 | 33 | | Atsushi Oka | 73 | 65 | 67 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 64 | 76 | 76 | 67 | 64 | 79 | 29 | | Magnus Sheffield | 69 | 64 | 67 | 70 | 66 | 71 | 69 | 71 | 65 | 68 | 72 | 72 | 68 | 22 | | Julian Cardona | 73 | 64 | 63 | 77 | 72 | 74 | 68 | 62 | 64 | 67 | 62 | 65 | 77 | 27 | | Similo Nyoni | 69 | 56 | 62 | 77 | 67 | 72 | 69 | 52 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 64 | 77 | 29 | | Faycal Hamza | 74 | 52 | 63 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 50 | 56 | 68 | 69 | 63 | 79 | 32 |
The TTT battle has gotten way stronger this year compared to last and we expect a huge fight here. Still, we bring our best possible team with extra horse power up front in the form of Nyoni and Cardona. We still think we have the right team balance to find success with this goal and we're glad we didn't overcommit on a win goal. Likelihood here for success if 80% but definitely some risk still.
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Kashyapa Siriwardena | 67 | 74 | 73 | 72 | 71 | 73 | 72 | 56 | 58 | 68 | 74 | 65 | 72 | 32 | | Joshua Kelly | 73 | 66 | 72 | 74 | 69 | 73 | 60 | 60 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 62 | 76 | 28 | | Alex Frame | 71 | 50 | 62 | 69 | 69 | 74 | 72 | 62 | 77 | 76 | 52 | 68 | 79 | 31 | | Atsushi Oka | 73 | 65 | 67 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 64 | 76 | 76 | 67 | 64 | 79 | 29 | | Magnus Sheffield | 69 | 64 | 67 | 70 | 66 | 71 | 69 | 71 | 65 | 68 | 72 | 72 | 68 | 22 | | Julian Cardona | 73 | 64 | 63 | 77 | 72 | 74 | 68 | 62 | 64 | 67 | 62 | 65 | 77 | 27 | | Similo Nyoni | 69 | 56 | 62 | 77 | 67 | 72 | 69 | 52 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 64 | 77 | 29 | | Faycal Hamza | 74 | 52 | 63 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 50 | 56 | 68 | 69 | 63 | 79 | 32 |
The same comments that were true for Monterrey are true at the Olympia's Tour. We're hoping some strong TTers find their way to Romandie although that's unlikely. Last year, the team's TTT was strong enough to make the difference for a huge point total and GC win for Faycal Hamza. This year we expect greater competition, but still expect to challenge. Frame is a slight step down from Arissol for the TTT portion, but should make up his own time in the epilogue. We expect at least 6 GC point scorers here and have to hope the individual TTs and TTT give enough to push us to the top 5. We'll put likelihood at 40%.
La Tropicale Amissa Bongo - Top 5
Nat. | Name | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | Age | | Julian Cardona | 73 | 64 | 63 | 77 | 72 | 74 | 68 | 62 | 64 | 67 | 62 | 65 | 77 | 27 | | Similo Nyoni | 69 | 56 | 62 | 77 | 67 | 72 | 69 | 52 | 70 | 68 | 71 | 64 | 77 | 29 | | Alex Frame | 71 | 50 | 62 | 69 | 69 | 74 | 72 | 62 | 77 | 76 | 52 | 68 | 79 | 31 | | Atsushi Oka | 73 | 65 | 67 | 74 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 64 | 76 | 76 | 67 | 64 | 79 | 29 | | Franklin Joel Revelo | 68 | 68 | 69 | 57 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 58 | 60 | 64 | 65 | 69 | 62 | 22 | | Luke Keough | 72 | 59 | 61 | 57 | 65 | 71 | 71 | 58 | 78 | 77 | 62 | 74 | 79 | 33 | | Finn Fisher-Black | 64 | 63 | 64 | 64 | 66 | 71 | 63 | 60 | 60 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 74 | 23 | | Faycal Hamza | 74 | 52 | 63 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 50 | 56 | 68 | 69 | 63 | 79 | 32 |
The prologue crew is back in action with a prologue and epilogue here in Gabon. La Tropicale conflicting with Tour of America is another big reason we picked here, assuming at least some of the specialists would be pulled that direction. Revelo and Fisher-Black are here to pull on the front if necessary, but this team is ready to fight the best of the PCT division. Think it should be a good battle with lots of ways for us to score even if we don't hit the goal. We'll say 33% chance of success here given how many options we have, but it could surely be a crap shoot.
Our full schedule can be found at the beginning of our HQ. We are really looking forward to experimenting with new races this year and a new strategy to attempt our Top 5 standings goal. We'll see if our budget cobble squad can amass some points.

What are you doing with all those PR riders at La Tropicale Amissa Bongo? We will clash there, but I certainly hope sprint will overcome prologue.
But I still sincerely wish you good luck!

CB, TT, SP focus - it's a recipe that can provide some great results, and a lot of frustration. Should be a mid-table team again, but i think your future looks stronger than last season even if the overall quality is roughly the same.
