Couple of quiet days for this window so just the two more signings to be Unveiled today as we get closer to the end of the window.
We welcome the following riders to Cervelo Test Team
Andrea Zordan: Pretty delighted to grab Andrea for the minimum salary offer depth not only in Punchy races but those with harder climbs and a decent accelaration to boot. Just another weapon to add to Moscons hills squad.
Wage : 50k
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FT | DH | PL | 67 | 73 | 77 | 55 | 72 | 72 | 70 | 53 | 65 | 74 | 72 | 62 | 55 |
------
Calvin Watson: Another weapon for the hilla Calvin lack of mountain will limit his oppurtunities in the Medium mountain terrain for Andrea above will be a better rider but in the short punchy climbs Calvin is going to add just another strong option to the team.
Wage: 50k
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FT | DH | PL | 74 | 65 | 78 | 68 | 76 | 72 | 70 | 57 | 62 | 72 | 73 | 61 | 67 |

Watson was a great lieutenant for Kelderman back in our second season in CT. Should be excellent support to Moscon.

After having the end of the first week transfer bedlem hurt the teams transfer plans in a couple of areas we are proud to announce our latest 3 riders.
We welcome the following riders to Cervelo Test Team
Georg Preidler: Our mountains leader Georg joins us late in his career but for an affordable wage for his stats and should give us some leadership in the mountains while also have a good MO/HI combo for any races including both types of stages.
Wage : 80k
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FT | DH | PL | 66 | 78 | 76 | 56 | 68 | 74 | 71 | 50 | 50 | 66 | 71 | 79 | 56 |
------
Mathias Vacek: First of our two czech loanees Mathias has good TT stats already and should be valuable to have on any TTT races while also being verstile enough to be useful should he go into any breaks.
Wage: 0k (140k paid by Moser - Sygic)
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FT | DH | PL | 68 | 65 | 67 | 72 | 68 | 66 | 66 | 60 | 64 | 69 | 64 | 69 | 71 |
------
Karel Camrda: Karel is our 2nd loanee again as with Mathias he is useful and well rounded enough that any break he goes into he will have some type of threat while also being able to get over enough terrain to provide support to our main leaders.
Wage: 0k (50k paid by Lidl Cycling)
FL | MO | HI | TT | STA | RES | REC | COB | SP | ACC | FT | DH | PL | 68 | 69 | 69 | 67 | 71 | 72 | 71 | 54 | 66 | 71 | 70 | 68 | 69 |

You really were able to sign even more nice riders on mostly minimum fees, very good work I'd say

Preidler was supposed to be the leader when my team was in PCT the first time around in 2020, but ended up underachieving big time. When a rider performs exceptionally well in MO/HI, but is trash in TT, I call this a Preidleritis

hopefully a bit of planning around the TT's will work for him down a level but to be honest just a good cheap option which we needed
@Nemo / Kb there was a plan to keep mostly min wage guys to begin with that would contribute and then go for two big wage guys at the top but we missed out on Debasey which half ruined that unfourtunatly |

A bunch of local riders and crazy depth for the hills, that's what I call a good start
Looking forward how Moscon will deal with the CT competition.
Good luck jt!

I would say that this is a team that should promote immidiately. Also without any real questions. Can't say if there is 1-2 better teams, but this should be an easy top 3 CT setup.
Well done jt!

A very strong leading trident with Moscon, Preidler and Houle. Moscon has historically performed in the Continental Tour, even if he struggles with the step up to the ProContinental level, and you've brought in plenty of support around him. Preidler is a decent rider but there are a number of decently strong climbers in the CT24, not to mention Jorgenson.
The big question mark for me is Houle. He struggled to keep himself in contention for Xero at times before this decline and Marko Kump, who possessed a similar profile, failed to be competitive in the bumpier .2 sprints last year. Perhaps a slightly thinner sprinter field, better planning and more opportunities will be sufficient for him to come good.

-------
Transfer Winndow closed here's where we are at Cervelo. Satisfied would be the word i would use not exactly as we planned (we wanted two big leaders then a lot of cheap domestiques) but not dissatisfied with how we have turned out.
First thing to note the new teams all did steller jobs (Zain, Duvel and Ethiopian) and all look very strong first season in which wasn't exactly suspected but all add a very intriguing best newcomer race to the season.
This impacts the goal we set out for ourselves which was to promote first time of asking (though the lack of teams in the division also helps this) and we aimied to build a squad that could hit around 1500 (2nd last year) which was a bit more difficult then imagined. and if i had to estimate now i think we've got around 1000 points (variance obviously either side) which should still be solid enough for anywhere from 5th-13th based on last year.
Postivies are I love where we are at in the hills Zordan, Waeytens and Moscon should have the right mix of stats to really make us a force there. The TT depth as an afterthought i'm pretty please with nothing spectacular but this wasn't a priority as I though the market was very high pricing those riders especially when the TT field in CT now looks very strong.
Mountains and Flat I don't mind but we are just missing that one extra leader in the 200-300k mark on either of those fields that should have put us into a higher tier. And i think if we fail this year this will be were the downfall is with the prolonged chase of Debasey costing us time to recruit another target. |

Nice transfer season! The depth of puncheurs is insane, absolutely wild that you could conceivably enter races with your weakest rider having 76 HI. Also curious to see what your punchy sprinters can do, and of course Preidler is someone I would love to have seen wear an Ethiopian jersey too.
Best of luck for the season ahead, I'm sure we'll have plenty of battles in the hills and mountains.

Moscon should do great as he has support coming from left, right and centre. Houle should still do the business at CT level, but I'm not a big fan of Preidler. I could be wrong, but I don't see him doing too well.

I agree with your assessment, jt, that a number of the new managers did well in building rosters this year. Combined with those coming down from PCT and some improving returning teams, and it looks to be a spicy little CT division this year.
Moscon was such a savvy pickup, he should dominate the hills if PCM treats him well. You'll need scoring from some others though to promote first time of asking. Houle seems like he'll have some niche success and even Hamilton could be an interesting one. Congrats on your opening roster and keeping some domestic riders as well!

What a team, you've done amazing on your comeback! I feel like I see major Gazelle vibes here, and I love it.

I don't think the team is as strong as others suggest. Moscon is obviously going to score in CT despite his poor sprint. However, I don't have much faith in Preidler, Zordan, Waeytens, Rucigaj or Houle.
Let's hope they can prove me wrong

I completely agree with you Caspi, I think we are anywhere from 7th-12th this year as we lack the Big scoring potential of other teams (i've a CT preview ready which i think explains it better).

Yeah went big on the puncheurs as it felt like there was going to be a big void as long as we could get one with a very good Mo/Hil ratio and moscon was the best i could find the sprint is a worry.
Always loved a punchy sprinter

Preidler was a situational rider in that he was so cheap it just made sense to add someone at his level for the price same as Zordan and Waeynats. Hoping Moscon can add a lot of points throughout the season.

Its a proper division this year I feel for a couple of exisiting teams who may think theyve improved but could find there at the exact same level as particularly yourself and Dippo have put together great teams

Long time no see
The team is 100% based on the original Gazelle team that was the idea it was my Favourite CT i've seen so wanted something similar

Promotion is possible through depth. Lovely return squad that should be visible with a base to work on going forwards.
