Congratulations to Laurens once again! It's good to get another reminder that you have quite some more great riders apart from Chiarello, though he got most of the applause.
For us the last two stages were a bummer with no one in the break. The ITT will only be interesting (at least for our riders) considering the positions of Garibian and Karatsivis in the U25 competition afterwards (and maybe one of them gets some GC points in the end, too). The last stage doesn't give us much hopes too, so it's all about hoping that our main competitors in the promotion fight have wasted their RDs as much as we did - which isn't a very enjoyable way of following a race

Yeah that feels about right, when the chips are down and we need to get a result, we just don't. Promotion isn't gone yet, but this could be a fatal blow given Euskal is a big boy race.

I can be fine with Predatschs result but definitely not with Dumoulin. Also why Malori ahead of both?! Wtf was going on.
I kinda new it wouldnt go like it looked on paper and with a second place isnt too bad. But I am still really dissapointed. I think we couldnt have any bigger chance of winning and this is what happened.
One positive thing is the performance of Vangheluwe, we are satisfied with that at least.
Congrats to JEWA and thanks for the rerport!

MALORI MY MAN!!!!
Hah I didn't expect us to win here, was hoping for some good sprint results for Selig and a good TT by Malori. But winning the TT and most likely the GC is FAR more than what I had hoped for. This is amazing, great work by a guy, that I only signed to have at least 1 good TT on the team hahahaha.
Thanks for the report, hope no disaster happens in stage 5 and we can win the GC!

Decent TT by Moser (beautiful picture). If he can get in the top-20 of the GC and top-3 in the point standings, we would be very happy.

Great win for JEWA, congrats!
Also nice to see Gjensidige pick up a podium. Maybe they can have a late sprint into contention with another good result in Euskal?
A real shame to see Hennis and Campbell underperform tbh. This was an excellent opportunity for PA to pick up some points Hopefully they kick right back in Euskal.

Oh, that's a really surprising TT result. I'm not used anymore to see that much randomness with daily form limitation, but maybe there was some wind, or the top riders just all had a -2 day (and Malori obviously +2, as more is no longer possible).
Malori definitely is a surprise winner, but tbh the biggest surprise of the stage is Rosskopf. A 73 TTer beating some 76+ TTers, that's a very rare feat this year. But yeah, given that Dumoulin as the (shared) best TTer loses more than 40" on a worse rider, I really suppose that the meteorological conditions had quite some impact.
Commiserations to those affected by this (especially the Turtles, Podium Ambition and Glanbia who were all expected to score quite big here), and congrats to JEWA on a pretty surprising win. And to Gjensidige for still getting quite something out of this despite not bringing their top riders.
Thanks for the reports!

Well it doesn't make up for the truly horrid TT stage and race overalll that really put our promotion hopes on deaths door - but damn it if Major finally winning a stage doesn't put a massive smile on my face!
Congrats to those teams who do score well here, but i'm gonna move on quickly from this one

First Thanks for the reports and congrats to JEWA.
We finished 2nd and also won a stage with Minali, so there is no reason to be disappointed. But we are kinda
Sure 2nd of Predatsch is nice and good. The win of the stage by Minali was also nice. BUT nothing of these 2 is extraordinary when you look at the competitors. The stage win of minali we were waiting for like the whole year and except the stage he won every other one was not so great like this last one which was again kinda bad.
Predatsch did also well but Dumoulin disappointed and in a field like this I honestly think we should have at least both in top 5 if not even on the podium.
In the end the race represents our season. It wasnt bad but it was less than we hoped (and probably even could have done).
Only 1 race left for us and then we can finally focus completely on the next season.

No complaints from the Turtles, but wow this was a weird race with the TT results as they are. Many thanks for the reports.
Kelly overperforming for 6th overall is a fantastic race for him. He's not my best scorer, but he might easily be becoming my favorite rider on the team. He'll be around for many seasons to come I think. Hamza in 5th is about expected as well and Oka ending 15th is more than respectable.
Hopefully this is enough for us to bump into the top 10!

Congrats TMM for the stage win though it probably doesn't make up for the bad TT. Also congrats to Blasing for the GC win and thanks to Ulrich for the reports!

Scott was super consistent for us and so close on the final day with a 2nd place! He has been brilliant as lead sprinter! Bevin in 14th was kind of as best as we could expect. The TT restrictions stopped us from achieving much more but good to be able to be at our home race and give it a go!

First of all congrats Blasing with the GC victory. Very impressive first season, topping it off with promotion!
It was a weird TT indeed. But honestly the TT's have been quite realistic this season if my memory serves me right. So I could live with changing weather conditions this time. The random splits I see in other races are harder to swallow as manager I guess.
We're more than happy with 2 stage wins and points for Liepins and GC top-10 for Kireva. A nice way to end the season for both.
Thanks Ulrich for all these reports

Thanks for the reporting Ulriksen! Catching every break here was the best thing we could see happen, considering we didnt have any big sprinters with us. And even with the TT the top 3 are very thight together. Hoped to see our season close with a last surprise, but we cant always get lucky! Congrats to Jewal again, you guys have been killing it!! |
