I don't think you really have a big superstar in your team for any of the (January) races, but on the mountains, hills and also in the sprints you definitely have some interesting depth and several cards to play. I also think winning TOME (and individual top 10) will be hard, but that ToA stage win is definitely possible, and so could be the team ranking. Eight stage wins will also not be the easiest thing to achieve, but a good ToA could definitely make the difference for you. Best of luck during the January races! (and the other ones as well )

@Nemolito
Thanks, we are going to need all the luck we can get
Yea, a lot of depth, but no exceptional leader/superstar.
I think my chances are something like:
50 % - team standings top-10
40 % - stage win in TOA
25 % - 8 stage wins in the season
10 % - top-10 in individual standings (tough one to estimate)
05 % - win TOME
I'm not good enough at math to calculate the probability of hitting two of the five goals, but I don't think it's that important since it's all based on guesses/estimations anyway

I'm curious to see how you'll fare with this mass of good puncheurs. We'll find out soon enough, hopefully it works out!

Looking a bit mediocre so far, but there are still plenty of exciting races to come |

Not really much to say for this month. There's not a lot of racing for us, and in the two races where we participate we don't have high expections. We hope for some nice surprises and maybe a stage win in Catalunya, as GC looks improbable with the long TTT.
Delayed post as I've been on vacation IRL. I recommend visiting Porto |

I've promised the sponsors to reopen the headquarters to the public again after some quiet months. Before we get into the roster and schedule for the coming season I would like to thank everyone we've been in contact with during transfers. We've had a huge rebuild and tons of negotiations - much of which never materialized. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves and hope we didn't let too many people down.
Also, we want to touch very briefly on the results from last season (wins on 1st page). We honestly hoped for more, but at least we had a very uplifting Tour of America where several competition were contested and one of our sponsor objectives were redeemed with not just one but two stage wins.

Some nice individual pieces but with some of the other teams in the division looking incredible strong I am not quite sure where to rank this. Page and Zariff should be great riders for the sprints and can easily perform incredibly and Kozhatayev is normally a great stage racer at this level, the issue is that Newton and Spark both have stage race cores that are bound to dominate the division. Best of luck!

Graningan is used as a lead out rider for Zariff to hopefully prevent what happened to him last year.

Zariff seems to be the best CT sprinter this year (again) and he has some help, so hopefully he can deliver for you. Kozhatayev is a nice rider too but it looks like one of many (like my Vanhoucke too) so it will be unsure how much they can score. Obviously Schomber is a PRL Beast and i would have loved to see him with us.
Also I am happy about any CT team that seems to avoid cobbles, not that I fear the comptetion but that leaves more security for us
Best Luck for you but I think competing for promotion will be hard, not just for you.

If Zariff can produce some results, you're in for a fun year Curious to see how much Kozhatayev and Nikiema can score on a lower level than last year.
All the best!

@whitejersey
I don't have much faith in Kozhatayev, but in his defense he was somewhere around my 10th preferred choice... Should still provide some depth scoring though
I'd put myself somewhere between 6th and 10th, but it really depends on how well Zariff performs.
@redordead
Granigan will indeed go to many of the same races as Zariff. However, there will be a few races with a different setup.
@Ezeefreak
Yea, the amount of strong GC riders in CT is absurd. Hopefully that will benefit those of us with other focus areas as well.
I think I overpaid a bit for Schomber, but at least he will also be a part of our TTT roster.
Cobbles are lame
@Laurens147
I wanted to train Nikiema but ended up without budget for it. I think he will score a bit due to his stat combination, but there is also a lot of strong puncheurs in the division, so it will probably be one or two wins at best.

A few more news
1) Lameck Marco Kulindwa loaned out
Kulindwa is loaned out to Bralirwa. He should fit the team well, and we look forward to see how he develops during the season.
2) Calendar now also added
Check our schedule here.
Thank you to Fabianski once again for doing all the legwork.
3) Nur Aiman Zariff trained
We had a little budget left for a training camp. Zariff looked like the best fit, so he was sent to Kilimanjaro where his lung capacity was improved:

Zariff looks interesting, the secondary stats are a bit low for my liking but having the (joint) highest SP rating in the division surely guarantees results. I'm also a huge fan of Seboka's profile, the guy can go up and down a mountain at WT level and do literally nothing else required of a professional cyclist
Best of luck for the season, it should be a good battle to see who's the best African CT team. Looking at your schedule we'll be at plenty of the same races too!

@Dippofix
Yea, Seboka is a funny rider. I have really low expectations for him. I'd like to see him make some kind of result in Pro Hallstatt Classic or Tour d'Andorra, but he's mostly going to ride as a domestique.
Two very equal African teams, I reckon. Maybe it comes down to planning?
Penasa should beat Kozhatayev in most races, but I actually think we're on almost the same level in the hills and time trials. You obviously have the biggest names with Bystrom and Frison, but I believe we have a bit more depth in races against the clock. On the other hand, I have a stronger sprint setup. Gibbons and Page are fairly equal, same goes for Habtom and Barbari, which leaves me with my ace - Zariff. Hope he scores big, despite his weak secondary stats, so we can come out on top

Let's have a look at the roster for the first two of our four goal races.
It's not going to be easy to secure a top-5, but the route should suit Nikiema decently. Laas will take over if it proves to be a harder race than expected, and Smit is supposed to cover attacks. That leaves Aru, Granigan and Mundle in supporting roles, while Moutsios and De Comarmond mainly are here to gather experence.
We done goofed. We're not going to win TOME, but we still brought the A-game. Carpenter, Seboka, Manfredi are going to give it a go with the help of Aru and Laas. The latter should have some freedom on the 3rd stage if Carpenter allows it.
Zariff is going to chase stage wins and maybe the points jersey. Granigan will be by his side most of the time, and De Comarmond will help collect some bottles. |

Looking forward to Nikiema's performance in Coppa Placci. I assume there will be a lot of competition with Eiking, Moscon, Bystrom, KHJ and Koretzky among others. Top 5 is definitely reachable if the race goes your way

Well, I am a little biased if KHJ finds his way to Coppa Placci, but I do wish you the best. As for TOME I can understand your feelings, it's not always easy to set your goals and then get sidetracked during the transfer season.

@Laurens147
Yes, lots of competition indeed. Looking at the parkour however, I think that Serrano and Govekar are bigger favorites than Moscon and Koretzky e.g.
Of course, you should never rule someone like Moscon out, but you need a decent sprint to win Coppa Placci.
@DarkWolf
KHJ is another rider who is impossible to rule out of the hilly races. With his fighting instinct he can potentially win despite his subpar finishing ability.
Yea, we changed plans quite a few times during transfers. With only 3 riders renewed (and 2 of those sold) it was almost like starting from scratch both in terms of team building and setting goals.
