Looking at the point totals, Dombrowski's GT win saved us from a bad season and turned it into a decent one. Both Lutsenko and Teunissen underperformed and breakaway success was very rare.
Normally we'd have to take a good hard look at the team composition to improve, but now that the game is switching to a new PCM version it's hard to predict what the formula for success will be.
A big thank you to everyone who makes this great game possible! Looking forward to next season.
And talking about next season; I hope it includes you, Roman. I fully subscribe to what the others have previously said on this topic.

Time to hit the reset button and go again. We accepted our fate when we drained our bank accounts for Girmay last offseason. I'm looking forward to dropping down a flight and getting more chances for our young team to win some races and compete more.
Sorry if I haven't been as active as in previous years, life gets busy when you get older. I still check the site a few times a week and comment when I can (or feel like it's worth it — hard to do so when you're team isn't doing anything noteworthy). Regardless, happy to say our HQ is updated with results and I have been keeping our archives up-to-date because the history part of the MG is very cool to me.
Thank you to all the reporters and everyone behind the scenes that helped get this MG season to the finish line. Your efforts don't go unnoticed.

Guess I'll start here. Another ticket down for us. It wasn't unannounced, as after the Giro we pretty much had it coming if it weren't for Debesay's exploits in the classics. Still it is annoying to go down by those tiny 50 points, but such is the nature of the game.
I want to thank everyone who made this season possible. It went as smoothly as it could be desired, so thank you all! Also congrats again Croatia. By this time I think we should all have a congrats Croatia in our signature, given the frequency we need to use this phrase.
That said I reckon I am in a similar situation to Roman. I just love this community, the mechanics of the game and its concept. However I have come to the conclusion that I can't be a relevant member without sacrificing time from either my loved ones, my work or my personal aspirations at this point in my life. The grim reality is that the time needed to scroll through posts, reports or previews, to plan transfers, to think and contribute to improve the game's shortcomings, to know about the new versions of the game and be competitive, or simply to remain updated and answer others is needed elsewhere in my life. I'm torn between continuing as a minimal-effort manager or exiting to try and be a better version of my rl self. On the other hand, being aware of the demographics of the game, the thought of leaving makes me feel I'm jumping off the boat. Also, unlike Roman, I'd be leaving on a low, which would add to the notion of leaving an unfinished job. I'll try and work out a decision until tomorrow. Sorry for keeping you guys waiting. And thanks especially for everything you've given me all these years!

Oh man, now winning the staying up battle doesn't feel so good.
Really sad to see another manager from the 2010 gang consider leaving the game.

Hope it wouldn't come as a shock to you Gustav to say that me and I'm sure many others really hope you stay and would miss your team but most of all you a hell of a lot if you go. But completely understand the real life reasons when you lay it out like that and only you can know what decision is right
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Likewise, totally understand the reasons behind maybe not wanting to continue, but it would be a big blow and quite sad to see you leave.

Indeed! To lose both Roman and Gustav would be an extremely hard blow imo. I have all the respect in the world for IRL things coming in the way of a fantasy game. Priorities should always be on IRL stuff. The Man-Game should be a breather not a burden, so if it has switched I fully understand the need to quit.
But I hope that it can be made possible to make a "mental shift", where the Man-Game isn't a IRL dealbreaker, but rather a positive element where you gain energy rather than drain it.
I'm not as active as I was once, but I have made the decision that I will invest exactly the amount of time into the game as I can comprehend and enjoy to do without it taking away anything from work, personal life and most importantly - my kids. Seem durable for the time, but it might not work equally well for others.
I truly hope to see both of you when the off season starts, even if it will be on a lover level of activity. I would rather have managers who actively decide to be less active, but still part of the game knowing the mechanics and workload of others, than losing those to gain more new managers who need to figure out everything.
New managers are always needed and wanted, but too many at once isn't good for the game.

Thanks for the words, guys. Although I can't promise my activity levels continue the same as before I'll try to work out some sort of balance between MG and RL.
Here's hoping Roman takes the same decision.

Great news
Hope you find a balance that feels right for you - if not, it's obvious that RL has first priority. I guess if you slightly beat the level of some zombie teams then everyone's happy
And clearly sharing your hope for Roman to continue as well!

Thank you for all the detailed rankings updates all season Fabianski. Certainly Vesuvio do not have the all monuments feat that Moser have now achieved. Four of them ticked off, but in 15 RVV editions, only ever one Top 10 (4th, 2008).
Lovely to read some of the discussions in this thread too, by the way.
Successful season for Vesuvio, and not many points away from being a few places higher even.
