i think obama isn't that good in leading the country he could get enough voters because of his charisma but in a few weeks he will see that most of his political goals are not possible...
surely he is the better vote than mccain because he represents the equalitiy in 2 ways, first he is black so someone out of a minority got voted as president and second he lived up poor, not like the most former presidents with much money
so this election shows us that there is now a good equality

If I was an American, I would vote for Obama too. But I got to tell you this, there's a lot of people in the world who have a blind faith in Obama without really knowing his policies. Many people just think he's all about change and that's must be a good thing considering what the current president (still for a couple of months) has done. Obama is EXTREMELY charismatic, and that doesn't excactly hurt his case. Those two reasons contributes a lot to why he's so popular across the world. That being said, I think Obama is indeed a better choice than McCain, although I feel he is a bit overrated. A great public speaker? Yes. A great president? We'll just have to wait and see. |

I agree with Shooting Star. But the reason for our doubts is mainly that we have no idea what he's capable of - but within the next few years, we'll know much more |

Well, I'm American, and I dislike Barack Obama, I also dislike John Mccain, and Sarah Palin. I liked Bill Richardson, the Governor of New Mexico, who was in the democratic primary |

in english class i read the speech obama held in berlin
and it was all about the past we have together and what is bad in the world and what needs to be changed but he had not really a plan the only thing he said how to solve all problems is to stand united in the world...

You can't really judge him on one single speech, especially not the one he held in Berlin. Different situations of course generate different speeches. The Berlin speech was aimed at creating a 'bond' between America and Europe, a bond which has been 'broken' during Bush's periods, and therefore, the speech focused on the similarities between Europe and America. |

The economy did McCain in, when he said "The Fundamentals of Our Economy Are Strong" back in September, it turned things on it's head because it's obviously now clear that the majority of Americans simply don't agree with that.
Palin also hurt him and he had the tough task of trying to win election on the coat-tails of a deeply unpopular fellow Republican incumbent.
The Chicago born playwright and critic, Bonnie Greer was on BBC Breakfast this morning. She said she was back in the USA a few months ago and people seemed really low, down in the dumps etc. Now the people seem to be recharged, have a new energy about them etc.
Obama was tough in his talk as regards Pakistan for instance but if there was one candidate who could help the USA make a fresh start with the rest of the world in the challenges that the world faces (the economy and foreign policy being examples) them Obama was that candidate. |

Exactly what I wanted to say, here in Holland e.g. about 95 of all the youngsters would vote for Obama. And I think that thats only because when they hear McCain they immediatly think Bush, Iraq, war etc. and that they know that Obama happens to be the exact opposite of what Bush is. If Obama can really get it done that would be great because in every speech he says the words change and yes we can about 20 times but now lets see whether he can change America and can actually get the nation back on its feet.
I did a test on the internet and there it came out that I was just 53% Obama and 47% McCain btw;o

being charismatic is a good trait. Think that if we need to convince North Korea not to nuclear bomb us. Obama will be great,
I think Obama's morals are so much better. When asked if Health Care is A right, Responsibilty, or privilege. McCain said that he believed that it was your responsibility to get it. Obama said it was a right that everyone deserves to have it and gets it.
With the Iraq war, maybe its just me but I dont want to be sitting around in Iraq much longer since; #1 we should have been gone long ago. #2 We aren't needed, #3 We are wasting money ,#4 People are dying.
Right now McCain is trying to get us out of this crisis quick and easy which in a half year will be better but then put us in a worst position. Obama has the right idea that we need to slowly get ourselves out and not rush.
Energy wise I say there almost equal except I don't think drilling is a solution for our energy crisis. The problem is that we run out of those fuels.
Finally Obama is a big man to even run. I say once a month there will be a real plan (not the quick and not organized attempt a week ago) to assassinate him. (Insert religious symbol here) bless him.
At school today it was crazy. Even though i live in a predominantly black neighborhood my school isnt. A lot of happy and sad people at school.

Americans have weird concepts. I still don't get how to americans he's "black" despite genetically being only half-black, half-white. weird.
And while we're at it, why do north-americans call central and south americans "latin" no matter how white or black they are? that's weird. To me, calling a guy "latin" is like calling another guy "scandinavian"....
