Great start from Taaramäe! He continues his good run of form to ensure he made the exclusive cut to finish 5th.
Going to be another very testing day tomorrow so fingers crossed he can pull out a similar result
Thanks for a great report and congrats to Oomen and Team on the stage win!

Disappointing to not make an attempt to be a part of the break. We have a lot of really suitable riders here so hopefully they try tomorrow.
Thanks for the report.

Pogi must have had a heck of a great day to stay up front as a 78 climber in that field
That performance moves the sticks from hoping for a top 15 to a top 10 finish, but that might be too much to ask for, unless he can do something similar again on stage 2. He has a nice gap for U25, if he can keep that throughout the race that would be great, cuz we need every point we can get.
Borisavljevic also with some deserved TV time here. Him and Pogi have so far been a good combo this season. One of the few bright spots.
Congrats to Lierse

Looks like it will be a tough ride for Penasa here as well for the rest of the season, a far cry from the over-performances of last season. I guess the only way is up from here but we will have to reduce our expectations.
Congrats to Lierse, always love to see Oomen do well. Thanks for the report!

Urgh. Good ride by Stannard I guess

Carapaz attacking with the Oomen group and then finishing 16th is dissapointing. Onto the next one!

That's a bummer. The kinda always performaning Haig with a collapse. Guess we can't complain after our season so far, but that's an awful ride today.. hopefully he will at least bounce back with a notable stage result in that hilltop finish or the timetrial.

Great racing by former Jura riders Manfredi and Thièry! The former usually had his one great stage per year - I guess that one was due today, congrats to Crabbe for believing in him Thièry did a nice job, too, obviously at a lower level given his skillset, but still a good stage result for Le Creuset.
But I don't really get what's happening to the GC favorites here. Oomen was the only consistent rider on those two stages - in this packed climber field, that's really surprising (to me). Especially Haig's complete failure is absolutely ununderstandable; I guess only -4/5 daily form could lead to such a result.
Well, congrats to Lierse; Oomen's big show (so far) is desperately needed given their previous results this year. And also good to see that Quintana somewhat redeemed himself, although he likely won't repeat last year's podium finish.
Thanks for another entertaining report, cunego

Cattaneo did show up today so all hope is not lost. Will be difficult to overcome the deficit of stage one but at least a decent result will likely follow.
Jerome Coppel, the ancient TT god, finishing tenth on a mountain stage. What?

First, thanks for the report!
After the first stage i just checked the report for entertainment and not expecting anything. At the end then: "WHat?" Why?! Holy!!!" I'm quite impressed by the riding of Hindley and Wohrer finishing 2nd and 3rd at stage 2. Seems like they sacrificed stage 1 for getting this result here. I really didnt expect a lot out of this race especially since it's HC but so even more i am happy about this and so this can already be seen as a sucess. Congrats to Manfredi and our riders, especially Wohrer who could score a nice one at "home"

Well all the good work Pogacar had done on stage 1, he quickly undone on stage 2. The only saving grace is that he kept the white jersey, but with 34'' I have my doubts he can keep it until the end.
A bright spot again is Borisavljevic who looks in with a decent chance of finishing 19th. I didn't expect to see us in the breakaway. Buitrago probably did about as good as he could in that field, I'm happy with his 5th place.
I didn't think about the team classification before the race, but after what happened in Chile, it would be nice if we could bring in some extra points.
Now let's see if Zariff has any legs left for a sprint maybe, and congrats to Crabbe on the stage win

Tbh I did not expect Perfectly Purple Pumpernickel (PPP ftw ) to be in the Top 10 after Stage 2, given how the first one went! He once again showed some of the fighting spirit which brought us so much joy last season. Not sure if he can hold onto that spot with the hilly stage and the ITT to go, but he has some gap to the next rider and that always helps.
Congrats to Crabbe and thanks for the report cunego

Great stage win from Manfredi, we're on a roll it seems
It counters the off-day from Carapaz, dropping to 17th.

Zariff recovered from the mountain stages well and positioned himself pretty much perfectly for that sprint. This was probably his first sprinting opportunity this season, 2nd place is better than expected
Stage 4 is breakaway friendly iirc, so I want to see at least one of Bouchard, Buitrago, Ardila or Crncevic in that move. Every stage point counts for us at this point and it may also help towards the team classification here.
Congrats to Minions on the stage victory

We don't care about the sprint stages at this point. The next 2 stages have tricky finishes where we really need to be positioned well.

Was hoping for better than 8th but then sprints really are a lottery.
Congrats to Marco and thanks for the report!
