A more important piece of news than that one: the "Operation Puerto" has been definately closed by the case's instructing judge, Antonio Serrano. |

And now I don't know whether to cry or to discuss how corrupt these people are.

My two cents:
It's better to close it rather than leaving it open without any information on any implicated people from other sports apart from cycling.
Now half the whole Spanish cycling will sleep better. It's time to say goodbye to those Valv.(piti), AC, Birillo, Birillo's friend... who had pissed off cycling conversations during the last two years. And it's also high time that riders who were linked to the OP, with no strong accusation to find them there, claim for justice and start riding again normally.
That said: will this have an effect on those rumours saying Fuentes received 7,000 Eur. from Fränk Schleck to do... emm... something? |

It's offical that Clerc will leave ASO now. Prudhomme keeps his position though. (from eurosport.fr) |

I would prefer they actually did something with the evidence. Like requesting one hair from each professional rider to do a DNA test to find out who the blood bags belong to.
I'm still thinking about CONI's investigation....which is at a standstill because the spanish authorities refuse to hand over the evidence because of....uhm....well, for no reason.
Supposedly the final deadline is January. If by late January they haven't received the documents, the investigation will be closed...

I have absolutely no source, but I think I heard once upon a time that the OP files would be open when the spanish authorities had finished their investigation. So now CONI, UCI and whoever might have an interest will have access to the evidence. Or is this wishful thinking? |

Do you work for the Suddeutsche Zeitung by any chance?

I'm very surprised. Lance Armstrong claimed that his EPO, erm, urine samples from 1999, tested again in 2005, didn't bring any significant result (lol).
Thus, as they were not stocked properly since 1999 (lol again) testing them again would not still not bring significant results (lol a third time).
Let's remind that the lab stated that there's enough urine left to perform DNA tests and EPO tests again on at least five samples, and that stocking samples too hot or too cold, or shaking them up and down, cannot bring a false positive case... |

ah the good old Vrijmann report It concluded that the tests weren't legally valid (very surprising). Not anything about the testing itself?
... on another dope related matter. When looking into the matter (once again) I stumbled over this little record of Floyd Landis' hematocrit in 2006 Notice the increase in his hct during le Tour.

That was because of his hip, and his body naturally injected itself with new blood, that plus LeMond is not really a reliable guy, he's jealous anyway, just like the French.
If you disagree there'll be an appeal. |

Yes, for those who doubted, this is yet another indicium that Armstrong was doped. If he didn't have anything to hide, why would he mind getting his tests re-tested? In any case, you won't see non-natural EPO in his urine unless he "put" it there himself

I completely disagree on this. Let's get Valverde, Contador etc. banned, so they can see that there's a punishment for doping. Everything else is stupid.

At least, if it's too late now, make them pay back all the money they won (and the one they earned ?) since then and remove their results, as if they had been suspended.
Ricco was eventually sentenced a two years ban, not a twenty months one. |

So, OP is closed again. That's 3 times now, is it?
Is this the final definitive closing or is it just the final one until the next appeal? |

No chance for further appeals this time. |

If I change my name to Landis and appeal against Landis' appeal, would the universe implode?

Lol, personally i think its good that OP is completely over. id rather put it in the past now. Get it done have nothing to do with it again.
lets stop moaning about the fricking doping and get on with the riding. If only every cyclist understood that! |
