Riccò's new contract is a pay rise from 40.000€ to 600.000€ a year.
if he wins the giro, he'll be payed an extra 600.000€
if he wins the tour, he'll get 1.200.000€ extra.
he might win the Giro in a few years...who knows... |

For all those over in England, in Queen's money that is:
Riccò's new contract is a pay rise from £27,056.60 to £405,849 a year.
if he wins the giro, he'll be payed an extra £405,849
if he wins the tour, he'll get £811,698 extra.
Just so we Brits can understand

you don't have to convert to understand. you just have to look at this comparison:
Valverde is the highest paid rider in the peloton at 2.700.000€ a year followed by Bettini at 2.5 million.
surprisingly, Boonen earns 1.7 "only".
Basso was on a 1.5 mill contract this year and Petacchi close to 2 million.
read this in an article during Paris-Nice. can't remember any more by heart. I know there are quite a few more guys in between Bettini and Petacchi, and even more between the others. just can't remember the values. |

It seems Vandevelde may follow Zabriskie to Slipstream.
And, although it is rather old news, Lövkvist may go to CSC.
Don't call me Jens Fuck! It always sounds like that when you Danish people say my name.

it's been reported a gazillion times, always by journalists that are 100% sure, so there must be a bit of truth there. |

he has proved in these last two stages of the Tour, if not before, that he merits either being #1 sprinter at Quickstep or moving to a different team as you say to become the lead sprinter
