If it freezes during random uses : either there's a hardware problem (RAM, videocard, mobo, CPU, PSU), either it's a bug in the software that's still running in the background (Windows).
Did you try to format and reinstall everything ? |

A Ram cycle (it's a bit complex) can last something like 30 minutes, does it happen that your PC manages to run longer than that without a freeze ?
If it doesn't, try to remove the ram from one of the slots, and run the pc again. If it then works fine it means you found the faulty component, if it crashes again, replace the ram and remove another one, etc. |

Sometimes it lasts longer, for example first I was able to be on the internet from 12 till 2 and also tested pcm08 for about 40 minutes (1 stage on x1 speed)

Try the method I described anyway, usually the RAM is the faulty component in case of freezes, now that you also have a "memory management" error message, it seems even more likely (could be the CPU as well, since the memory controller is integrated into AMD CPU, but it's much more unlikely). |

ok, but see I've never really understood pc's, is it easy to take out these ram sticks and where are they located most of the time?

RAM sticks are located inside the computer. They are the stick shaped things. And they are easy to get out,

yeah, it's very easy to remove them and place them again, no worry, there are no tools required (you'll need a screw driver to open the box though). Open the box, they're usually in the higher part, not too far from the fan CPU, between it and the CD readers/burners most of times. You can't really be wrong about their location anyway. |

So basically I have to take one of the 3 sticks out, try to play Medieval or FM08 for a while and if it runs for an hour or more it should be good..however I would have to go to the shop and give back that faulty ram stick in exchange for a new one which they do I believe
EDIT: So they are located on the inside of the pc on sides, so not at the back or the front?

Go back to the shop then, and explain them the problem. Up to them to fix it. |

Its going to explode in a week then. Since Vista cant multitask, it cant have more than one problem at the moment, so whenever its having a small problem, be happy! Because its not about to make your power supply smoke. For fun!

Vista, tsk, tsk. I stayed on XP after trying Vista for one month in January 2007.
Looking forward to Windows Seven though, they seem to be taking care of Vista's main flaws whist developing it. |
