Happy to see my team cared about the sprint despite the GC lead but Thomas should have waited a bit longer and that could have been an absolutely deadly lead-out. 6th for Jakobsen not enough to push the top of the GC but he's got 2 more opportunities to take a stage win.
Matthews moved up the GC a lot so we have to hope that the sprint results are split across the next 2 stages for Cosnefroy to hold onto the lead!

Not a great result but the sprint positioning was good, no lead out and a little time gain. GC after the last stage is what matters to us.
Nice to have Granigan in the young riders but will likely lose that to a break.
Thanks for the report.

And this is exactly what we need Vingerling to do, hopefully he'll produce a bit more of this going forward!

Ranneries consistently among the top sprinters.
Lunder tied for climbers jersey.
Andersen and Halland Johannesen top 10 in youth ranking.
Nothing really to shout for, but we'll celebrate anyway
Thanks for the report! Intense sprint finish! |

Job done to protect the GC lead but Jakobsen really feeling the Team GC Lead curse right now and not positioning himself well to have a shot at a stage win.
Vingerling awfully close to taking that GC win so we really need some favourable results tomorrow. Hopefully Jakobsen can get a top 3 to steal those bonus seconds away.
We shall hope for the best for tomorrow!

Craddock only losing one place after 2 sprint days is good, I reckon 2-3 sprinters are within range tomorrow but they won't all pas him( I hope)
A top 5 would be great

Well a weird situation, a terrible prologue and two mediocre sprints and Keough finds himself in a pretty good place. 5th place again tomorrow and he is in the top few on GC, maybe first depending on how others fair.
So that is the good news. Bad news is given the field he ought to win this race easily with a decent prologue and if he being GC leader wasn't poison.
So this could still be a disaster or pretty darn good.
Thanks for the reports.

Wowee this game is something else sometimes
First of all, why is Jakobsen bike lengths ahead so early and then collapses to 8th…?
And then to lose the GC off the back of that on the same time definitely hurts.
Ah well. GOAL ACHIEVED of a Top 5 so thank you to Cosnefroy and the team for that one. Still a good scoring race for the team as well!!
Thanks Red for the great reports and congrats to all those who took stage wins and good GC placings!

Congrats to all that made something out of this race, and thank you so much for the reports dobbel R
We take 3 guys into the top 11, can't complain. We really wanted a stage win, but i guess it wasn't ment to be this time..

Can't really be too upset with Vingerling in top 5 GC but all we need to win the GC here is more or less a top 8 sprint finish from him. At least this kinda makes up for the disaster that was Lisbon. Thanks for the reports!

Well that was terrible. I think maybe the game counted Keough as a GC favorite going into the last stage because sprinting late is typical of that. In the prior two stages he acted like a regular sprinter. I think Vingerling suffered the same fate.
Frustrating finish behind a bunch of riders he should have beaten, particularly as t is a goal race to which Keough is perfectly suited. But I am not the only one with that complaint by a mile
At least Granigan managing to win the best young rider and take 9th on GC was a nice upside. Frankly embarrassing for Keough that he only beat his young teammate by 1 place in the GC.
LLS - I don't think the GC thing effects you if your sprinter and GC rider are different riders, it is only when the sprinter is the GC rider. Jakobsen's issues were more with the lead out problem.

Thank you very much! I am getting there.
Another goal missed with the team not placing any rider in top 10. But this time around it is because of a poor judgement on my part and my miscalculation of the TT stage. Boivin fought well in the sprint stages, but the time loss on the first one was too great to recover.
It is a race for the 2nd places for the team. We were close to a stage win with Boivin finishing 2nd on a stage. Also in the points and KOM classifications we came 2nd in the end, again with Boivin and with Jorgenson. I cannot fault my team for missing this goal, like I said that's on me, so considering this I am satisfied with the points we managed to score in the end.
Congratulations to all who did well in this race! |

Two stage wins in a row, best race since we are back. Plus green jersey makes for a great points haul. Bouhanni has finally arrived at strava, may he continue to punch above his weight!
Thanks for the nice reports and superb results red!

The results between 10th and 6th place are kind a something standard that Selig try to provide us in last few races or stages of races but defenetly the second place that was a big and nice surprice. I hope he can keep and slight improve that.
Thanks for preview and reports
