In a few years we are going to be #1 because of the following players -
Note: All of these guys are young
Ovechkin (Needs no explanation)
Semin - Great up-and-coming goal scorer
Mike Green - Top goal scoring defensemen
Nicholas Backstrom - One of the assists-men in the league, and still a rookie
P.S. Thanks to the deal with the Candians to get Huet, we have closed up the question involving Olie the Goalie's age.
Caps Rule
You americans really slaughter swedish names
English speakers slaughter most names
Did you happen to hear Leipheimer's interview after the Tour? If I was Contador, I would've punched him in the face. literally. He made no effort whatsoever to pronounce Contador's name and just treated it as an american word.
No didn't hear it, but I can imagine how it sounded.
Deadpool, I was just joking...mostly |

I got no favourite team in the NHL but I do have a Flyers pennant on my wall.
Bäckström is the new Peter Forsberg.

Yes, and with the fact that he is passing to Ovie, he should have a great few years (if not career) |

THE CAPS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS
P.S. matt493 is now in therapy because we passed the Hurricanes to get into the playoffs, and we did it by doing what they could not, beating the Florida Panthers |

We couldn't have gotten more help from the refs in that game. The Panthers had 10 pentalies and the Hurricanes had 0.
P.S. I don't really care that much. When was the last time the Caps won the Stanley Cup.

Who cares? Were the hottest team in the east, and even Barry Melrose (who hates the Caps, and is the hockey analyst at ESPN) said that we have a legitimate shot to reach the finals, even though it will be hard to beat likely West finalist Detroit (which would be the same matchup a the 97-98 cup, the last time we were there). Also, us and the Blackhawks have the best young talent in the league, so you better watch out for us for years to come |

The team has no playoff experience. it's very doubtful they can do anything. But never say never.

don't take the Kings lightly. they're likely to be the best in a few years. watch them get Stamkos or Doughty this summer.

Yeah, but they are definitely #3 behind the Caps and Blackhawks, and for playoff experience, two names Olie and Federov, that is some nice leadership |

I see it the other way around.

yeah, but the huge majority of the team has not seen even one playoff game. it's like putting football players playing with a square ball and expecting them to be competitive. The playoffs are completely different to the regular season.

The way I see it, the team is really hot right now, and Olie and Federov will help channel it |

Probably not, but you never know, there isn't a dominating team in the east, like the Red Wings are in the west |
