Agreed... That was just a lousy comment imo... I have Zubeldia in 10th I think. If we sim the rest, i'm pretty sure he will lose that 10th place, but nontheless I think that should be done when we have the opportunity to do so...
There's a clear pattern here... The guys with riders in top 3-4-5 want to give the race full points whereas the others don't. I hope it's a matter of randomness, and I think it is. In most cases anyway... For sure I believe SN to take the right decision here, he hasn't put his team infront of the games interests so far, so he should get quite some credit for that imo!
As i said in my other post, you can't take away points from the people up there because the full race hasn't been run, when we have seen all the different stages that shape an outcome. Sure there are more stages that can shape an outcome, but that doesn't change the fact that the leader board is an accurate portrayel of how this stage race should turn out. My comment was only mean to point out that he would have a natural bias against giving full points, since he is one of the few teams that has a legit shot at the pro tour title, and by giving away fewer points here, then that can only help his cause.
Would you be making this argument if Devolder wasnt high placed overall? Dont be so paranoid. Just because its what you would do if in my situation doesnt mean it applies to everyone else. Surely if I was completely biased then I would either vote for no points to be given at all or simulation (thus giving a chance for my riders to score points, which they did when I made a test simulation in investigating the problem). Infact, why wouldnt I just volunteer every single race so that I could play each race as many times as I wanted until it was a good result for me? Dont be ridiculous.
Look at the facts, Tirreno 2008, the race was unable to finish due to a CustomTour error. Were full points given to the overall placings as they stood after that stage? Nope. Why should the previously used policy be changed now?
