Amgen Tour of California
Stage 3:
The queen stage, and probably one of the best stages for our captain Gesink.
Gesink attacks with only 2.5 kilometer's to the top.
And Gesink is first on the summit!
But there is a group with about 10 man behind him, so they got him back.
He attacks with 3km to go! But it probably won't work, the others are better sprinters.
No, Kirchen wins. Gesink is 4th and the new leader in the young riders clasement.

Paris - Nice
Stage 1: ITT Amily 7km
The prologue of this years Paris - Nice is in Amily, a city south of Paris. We'll try to win this race with our capian Gesink, who is in decent shape. Also Niermann and Weening are in very good shape. We'll see what this timetrial brings us.
The first Rabobank cyclist is Weening, he sets a very good time! He only lost 9 seconds to Lövkvist, who settled a incredibly fast time.
World champion Grabsch sets a very disapointing 7th place so far. Look at that face, he realy tried hard.
One of our tallents: Kai Reus. He settled a very good time for his doings.
Then its our capitain Gesink who is turning to the finish line! He lost 12 seconds, thats quite good.
Then Niermann settled a incredibly fast time, and he's third so far!
The final Rabobank cyclist of the day is Ten Dam, he lost 10 seconds.
The only one who is still able to beat Lövkvist is Mcgee. He looks very focused.
But its Lövkvist who wins the prologue of this years Paris - Nice. Great job by Niermann, who finished 3th.

Paris - Nice
[i]Stage 2: Amily - Nevers
Today favours the sprinters, we'll try to be in a long break-away, so we can get the mountain jersey.
Another rainy day in France, but as a dutch team, the riders should be used to it.
De Maar tried to be in the break today, with a little bit of luck we could get the mountain yersey.
He leads with a Japanese Skil-Rider, but there are more attacks comming from behind.
He couldn't follow the attacks, but on a little hill, he tries to jump to the lead group.
It was quite an exercise, but he managed to get into the front. There are 4 leaders now.
In the peloton, one of the stage favourites falls. It's Sebastian Chavanel, the Frenchman gets 2 teammates to get him back into the pack.
De Maar wins the mountain sprint! So he'll be in the polkadot jersey tomorrow.
And his adventure stops here, alone against the pack is a undoable thing.
Then Hincapie falls! The number 2 of the classement will lose time today.
Niermann brings Martens to the front. It's going to be a weird sprint. A lot of the favourites fell in the last few kilometers.
Martens had the wheel of Hushovt! But the Norwegian sprinter started to sprint from very far, so he coulden't keep his wheel, but maybe he can get a top-10 position.
It's Hushovt who wins the stage, in front of Casper and Weyland. Martens is 6th!
Lövkvist still leads, Niermann is second and Martens third.
Stage:
1. Hushovd
2. Casper
3. Weyland
4. Fischer
5. Napolitano
6. Martens
7. Vaitkus
8. Valverde
9. Clerc
10. Greipel
GC:
1. Lovkvist
2. Niermann +5
3. Martens +6

Win what? We don't have a sprinter if you mean the stage, but for the overal we might have a chance.
Edit: 6th place in the stage is quite alright i think.

Paris - Nice
Stage 3: Nevers - Belleville
Today a hilly stage, probably a good one for a breakaway. But there is still a chance for the sprinters.
Martens wears green!
And De Maar wears the mountain jersey.
Kai Reus is in a huge breakaway, he doesn't work. He saves a little bit for the last part of the race.
He won the first mountain sprint, and now he's breaking away for the second one.
Then the final climb, he has won al the sprints so far, but he wants to sure of the jersey. So he attacks.
But a fairly unknown rider from the cofidis team wins this one, and now he is going on for the stage.
On the final hill, Cunego and Valverde attack. Just over the top, Gesink joins them.
Hary wins! A surprise. Gesink and Reus finish in the second group as 5th and 6th.
Gesink leads! but Cunego and Mcgee follow at only 0 seconds.... Reus is 4th on 1 second. How close can it be?
Stage:
1. Hary
2. Mcgee
3. Cunego
4. Joly
5. Gesink
6. Reus
7. Pineau
8. Burghardt
9. Valverde
10. Mizourov
GC:
1. Gesink
2. Mcgee +0
3. Cunego +0
4. Reus +1
5. Burghardt +15
6. Pineau +23
7. Hary +24
8. Valverde +25
9. Joly +29
10. Lövkvist +43 |
