I guess it's like everything else. The ones releasing the their new products, will be the "best". Shimano is now releasing electronic groupsets!? Campagnolo have made 11 speed groups!? I wonder whether those things will become the standard in the future?? |

Usually takes about two years for the number of speeds (why don't they call it gears ?) to slip from the better group to the mainstream ones (I'm mostly referring to Campagnolo here, I'm not a Shimano fanboy ).
Not sure it'll be the same for eletronic groupsets, I'm curious to see it. There have been attempts to introduce such things already in the past (Mavic system), it never really convinced people massively. |

To most people, you have X gears in the front and Y at the back which combine for X*Y speeds. For some people it's the other way around. For some other people, "speeds" refers to completely different concepts.

Everybody here is a fanboy, as shown by the fact everyone touts this or that brand without anyone putting up any arguments

People are always resistant to change, no matter what.

Garmin is signing a two-year extension with Felt. How do I know this, despite the fact it hasn't been announced yet. Well, if I told you that I'd have to kill you......
But actually that news is true, the press release from Felt is coming out today. Trek and Specialized made huge bids, over triple what Felt made, for the contract, but Vaughters and Co. decided to stick with Felt. |

Its 7:30 AM, thats not to early. Also, Ridley is dropping its sponsorship of Silence-Lotto. And are sponsoring Katuysha instead. Look and Musseuw Bikes are the two brands apparently in the running for the contract to replace Ridley.

Allegedly they should be able to shift much faster, than a wired one? I can't imagine who would demand a quicker shifting though? But of course, maybe if you onced tried shifting with the touch of button, going back to pulling a wire is a no go? Anyways Aqua, Campagnolo also have an electronic group on its way (I think?). |
