Starting with a clean installation would save you a bit of hard drive space, but if that's not a concern, you should be good if you simply overwrite it.

Yes, that should work as well. The new regen xmls have an impact on your previous careers (when generating new rookies at the start of the next season), but should be an improvement anyway and if you don't want those, simply make a copy of your old ones and replace them after the installation. And some of the new graphics features like updated rider photos and race logos will even show up in your career with the 2020 DB.

Just a quick follow-up on that: We're not entirely sure how this happens, but it does seem to be some kind of bug. If you return to the main menu and go back to the screen choosing the custom teams, the plus icon is where it should be (at least in our numerous testings). Restart the game and the trash cans are back when you get there for the first time, but not anymore afterwards. It also only seems to happen when playing on high resolutions. If anyone knows what could be going on there, let us know, but we can't connect this to any of our files.

Another mistaken race date: Dutch race 'Volta Limburg Classic' should be moved to July 18. Guess it got mixed up with the Belgian 'Tour of Limburg' which is scheduled on May 24.
A question I have: Is it possible that there are not enough races compared to the amount of riders in the database?
I'm currently trying to start a career with Uno-X, a PCT team of 26 riders (I moved Charmig up from the development team). But the game just doesn't allow me to participate in enough races to use my entire team, unless I ride shitty races like Tour of Taiwan.
Also taking in account that the Norwegian .2 races are reserved for the development team, other .2 races (like for example the Danish ones) are not available for me and I'm not getting any invitations for .WT races except some times for the lower level ones like OHN, Strade, UAE Tour.
From the early European races, I'm only allowed to ride Algarve. No Bessèges, no Valencia, no Murcia, no Almeria, no Andalucia, no Alpes Maritimes...
I know I can change this with a database editor, but it's such a hassle and I'm already editing my sponsor goals, the team leaders etc. before I can even think about planning.

I have just installed PCM 2020 and then installed the expansion. Problem is, that most team minijerseys are just pink squares and there is no bikes, wheels or helmets ingame. What have I done wrong? Have tried putting the extracted files in the right folders twice. |

Did you select PCM Daily as your db when starting your career? |

This is a balancing act for us as DB creators. On the one hand, we want to put many diverse races on the calendar to give players the opportunity to play different types of careers. On the other hand, we can't include so many for instance Asian teams that they fill the entire Tour of Taiwan, because the quality simply isn't there. And local/national teams of free agents unfortunately aren't a thing.
Therefore, it's unavoidable that other teams who would not "realistically" participate IRL do so in the game. And if we were then to add even more European races, for instance, to allow a team like Uno-X to have a more realistic race calendar, we'd have to add more teams still or otherwise we'd risk not having enough teams for races in overcrowded spots on the calendar (which is already the case in a small number of cases).
Now, ideally you would simply have more freedom to customize your race calendar by being allowed into the races you mentioned like Almeria. I'm not sure if that is something that can be pre-edited (loosening the restrictions, something like that). We could certainly take a look at that. I'm also not claiming that the ratio of teams and available races is perfect. But simply adding more races brings its own problems with it. Plus, there's obviously the issue that any races have to exist with stage files of decent quality.
If you have any ideas for changes, I'd be interested to hear them, though  As I said, maybe there are ways this could be improved.

As Martijn said, this sounds like you haven't chosen or correctly installed the cdb file. Make sure that it's in the folder Documents/Pro Cycling Manager 2020/Mod/PCM.Daily 2021 DB and that you choose that one in game.

Can you tell if the jerseys that do show up are the 2021 ones or still the old ones from the original game? And maybe as a test for one of the teams that we changed, does Ag2r Citroen have a jersey and minijersey? If not, can you check if you have a folder called "act" in your PCM folder in the steam directory under 3D/Cyclists/Cloth/Team? Just to try and isolate if it's a problem with the DB or the files.

I think the problem can't be fixed by editing the master db, only by editing the save db.
It's just disappointing to be playing a game and not actually being allowed to race the races you want. Not that I expect to ride the Tour with Uno-X, but players should get more freedom when it comes to .1 and .Pro races with a PCT team.
Same thing with choosing your leaders (the one you can set the objective for). Everything is so random. Uno-X has two clear leaders, Halvorsen and Hoelgaard, and several other riders that can fill out the other three spots. Yet the game gives me the weirdest riders as leader and often not Halvorsen or Hoelgaard. I think you should be able to choose your leaders when starting a career.[/rant]
Does anyone know if granting myself access to specific races through editing the db messes with the game? Like, will there be teams that have just one rider?
I guess I could do it on the first day of my career and let the game solve the problem. |

I found some mistakes with the NC's of Ireland, Norway and some more countries; the winners don't get the national jersey (but do get the trims that they are a former national champion). I think it has to do with the automatic mails you get with just a message who won the NC, this "overwrites" the ridden NC. But stranger is that f.e. Roglic won according to that automatic message the NC Slovenia, while in the race, Mohoric won. But neither of them are wearing the national jersey. Any solution to this problem?

I got the automatic mails on 21/06, and also the results of the NC's I got that day (so they were ridden on 20/06). I think the game got two results at the same time and therefore glitched, by giving neither of the riders the jersey. Let me know if you figured out if your solution worked
