The route is almost tailor made for Valverde and Contador. All the big stages are in the first two weeks. The last mountain ITT doesn't look very decisive:
Never.

Yeah, but add onto that 2 weeks previous of hard racing and you have some tired legs for that ITT. It will be decisive, every day always is - as seen in the tour this year.

Think again. A few short years ago the Vuelta's 20th stage was an ITT up that exact climb. The seemingly unperturped and unflappable yellow jersey lost 2:30 and thus lost yellow
For those of you who might be thinking otherwise, the hardest mountain stage is NOT the Anglirú stage. It's the very first mountain stage.

ah yes, it was a spectacle, Heras racing up the mountain in one side of the screen, and poor Nozal suffering in the other side :-) |

Evans is still injured and thus has been taken out of the Lotto squad. Matt Lloyd will replace him.

It's a shame Columbia won't participate. Gerdemann and Rogers in good form could do very well. Gerdemann will do Tour of Germany, Rogers is at the Eneco but i would like to see him ride in mountains, he looks in great form, good at Dauphiné, 3º at Sachsen-Tour and was very well at the Olympics... |

They're out because Cordero thinks Bouyges is a more worthy team for some reason.
Cordero's both mad and an idiot, in case you don't know him. I'm not kidding, he is LITERALLY mad.

he's the guy who wants to start the Vuelta with more teams and keep knocking a team out of the race every few stages based on results.
