Stage 9
img373.imageshack.us/img373/1314/langkawi90nb3.png
The final stage. Casper is 27 seconds behind Sörensen and the time bonus is only 20 seconds, you do the math. CSC will just keep it together.

img387.imageshack.us/img387/3709/langkawi91cy6.png
Here he is, the soon to be crowned winner of Le Tour de Langkawi.

img136.imageshack.us/img136/3498/langkawi92oh9.png
CSC is winding the break back in. Eibegger decides to pitch in.

img523.imageshack.us/img523/2425/langkawi93st3.png
18 km to go, Radochla has a drink of water as he prepares for the sprint finish. Casper is close by in his green point jersey.

img512.imageshack.us/img512/2111/langkawi94be7.png
Once again Radochla is following Casper. Will he pass him this time?

img92.imageshack.us/img92/5219/langkawi95dg6.png
With 1.5 km to go Casper is nowhere near the front. Reihs is looking good behind his lead out man.

img75.imageshack.us/img75/9651/langkawi96qo9.png
Reihs takes it in front of Cardoso and Sörensen crosses the finish line as GC winner. All in all a great day for Denmark.

Stage 4
img516.imageshack.us/img516/1376/stage400tv8.png
With Trampuch 12th in the GC, I decided to play this stage. An outside shot of a top 10 was tempting.
A few small climbs, and then an uphill finish. Loads of good glimbers in this race, whit Cobo amongst the favourites.

img157.imageshack.us/img157/6710/stage401yx0.png
With 82 km to go Lampre and Caisse finally took control of the pack. The leading group, including Millar, where by then 7 minutes ahed.

img524.imageshack.us/img524/189/stage402ez2.png
29 kilometers to go and Millars bunch was within eyesight

img294.imageshack.us/img294/4131/stage403iv2.png
With 17 k to go the pack was attacked. One of the riders that got loose was Murro, since Caisses leader, Lastras, also had a rider in the break who was going to lead the peloton? Trampusch was nowhere near the front since I did not anticipate this turn out.

img510.imageshack.us/img510/7520/stage404dr6.png
2 kilomters later we found ourselfs leading the chase. Since most of our riders had been dropped earlier on only 3 elks were left to chase.

img133.imageshack.us/img133/2726/stage405ig8.png
With 8 kilometers to go we caught the break, but then another attack was launched. But both Saunier Duval and Caisse left their leaders in the pack, so we relyed on them to do the work.

img296.imageshack.us/img296/3776/stage406rq5.png
Caisse did work hard, with 4 k to go only Vázquez of Contempolis was on his own while the break including some of the top GC contenders were in reach.

img301.imageshack.us/img301/4228/stage407gd5.png
One kilometer later, the break was caught, Lastras fo Caisse then decided to move on to the attack. Trampusch followed.

img294.imageshack.us/img294/6331/stage408tf1.png
2 kilometers of climbing left. Trampusch was in the leading group of eight 50 seconds ahead of the constantly attacked peloton. Unfortunately the austrian was looking tired.

img509.imageshack.us/img509/1555/stage409rz5.png
Last kilometer, Sánchez Pimiento (Contempolis) and Herrero (Karpin - Galicia) were first, who would take the stage win? Trampusch clamped on to the wheel of Lastras, comfortably ahead of the peloton.

img300.imageshack.us/img300/6636/stage410zs0.png
Herrero took the stagewin, Trampusch held on for sixth place, beating great climbers like Cobo. Fantastic.

Herrero took the yellow jersey, just 3 seconds ahead of Lastras. Trampusch moved into 7th.

February summary

Some racing, at last.
Tour de Langkawi was not a total succes. We got on the podium once, I was hoping for more, and maybe even a stage win by Radochla.

Andalucia was a total disappointment, let's just leave it at that.

The valenciana results on the other hand. Just fantastic.
Finished in the top ten of every stage, save stage 1, with Radoshclas podium place in stage 2 and Trampuschs 6th place on stage 4 as well as in total GC as major highlights.

Next up is march, which involves GP di Lugano. The Tour de Romandie wild cards will probably also be handed out during this month.

Hopefully I can pick up the tempo during this week, was away for most of the weekend, plus I still haven't got my netwoork connection to work.

Thanks for the support.
Will post two months worth of racing tomorrow (mostly simmed), including the important GP di Lugono. The wild cards for Tour de Romandie have also been distributed. Read all about it tomorrow.

The economy of the elks is not stable, this will become an issue pretty soon. All ideas on how to solve this are welcome.

GP di Lugano
img518.imageshack.us/img518/2421/stage00to9.png
GP di Lugano, a hilly race.

img524.imageshack.us/img524/7499/favsvi2.png
Our sponsors want us to make a top ten finish, which will be very hard with this startlist.

img112.imageshack.us/img112/2004/stage01ka0.png
The break of the day featured 12 riders from 12 different teams, Valach was our representative. With 105 km to go they where 4½ minutes ahead of the LPR-Ballan lead peloton.

img214.imageshack.us/img214/4233/stage02tk9.png
80 kilometers from the finishline, the LPR and Barlowolrd lead peloton was 7½ minutes behind the leading 12. THe leading group had some problems getting organised.

img520.imageshack.us/img520/3745/stage03jo1.png
LPR-Ballan was leading the peloton up the penultimo climb and they did a good job. With 46 kilometers to the line, the break was within 2 minutes.

img214.imageshack.us/img214/7253/stage04ng7.png
With 30 k to go he peloton was just a minute behind the break. Valach was looking good today and decided to launch an attack. Unfortunately it just lead to total pandemonium in the break and the QuickStep lead peloton gained even faster on them.

img214.imageshack.us/img214/2928/stage05ka2.png
With 15 kilometers to go the favourites started attacking. Here we ses Soler accelerating ahead of the peloton. Rohregger follwed him, but fell short and got left alone.

10 kilometers and attacks came from left and right. Trampusch was barely hanging on the leadng group of 15. Tinkoff was leading the peloton, where Eibegger was still wainting for the right opportunity to attack.

4 kilometers to go and the 15 seamed destined to settle it among them selves. Would Trampusch make top ten, being a lousy sprinter.

2 kilometers and Pfannberger had opened up a gap, Trampusch was on the wheel of Barredo but close to last of 15 men strong group.

img524.imageshack.us/img524/9278/stage06bj9.png
1.3 kilometers and the peloton caught the 15, Trampusch still on the wheel of Barredo now in fourth place. Gasparotto and a whole bunch of sprinters were breathing down their neck.

img74.imageshack.us/img74/1993/stage07az3.png
Pfannberger ahead of Scongamiglio, a double for Barloworld? Trampusch currently in fifth, will he hold on?

img242.imageshack.us/img242/4179/stage08fz9.png
Barloworld takes the double and Trampusch manages fifth. Barredo was the right rider to follow as he made the podium.

Stage
1 Christian Pfannberger Barloworld 3h46'53
2 Carlo Scognamiglio Barloworld s.t.
3 Carlos Barredo Quick·Step s.t.

This was nothing short of fantastic! Trampusch was not considered as our leader prior to the race, but being in such great shape he managed to beat great riders like Soler, Casar, kirchen and many others.

img294.imageshack.us/img294/8992/trampuschyn1.png
Trampusch is now one of my favourite riders, if only he could loose that mullet...
The result had a huge impact on our sponsors.
